Wow! What a rollercoaster day LOL I thought I would try lowering carbs a bit more, closer to keto: I was so cranky and hungry and had to talk myself out of cheating. "It's Fat Tuesday, it's Pancake Tuesday, I can be on track tomorrow", the endless binge monster BS whispers that swirl around when I feel deprived! I wanted chocolate sooo badly but decided I can make a lovely choco chia pudding when I get some coconut or almond milk. It felt a bit like a battle until I had a proper dinner with healthy carbs and felt settled & satisfied. Happy with my resistance and shows my original "just lower carbs" plan is best for me, for now! Tomorrow I think I will make a little 40 day challenge (till Easter weekend) with myself to do some sort of cardio of minimum 20 mins per day. Maybe I can quickly increase that to 30, then 45, then 60 mins! I hope everyone had a great day :)

cranky is not good. To get into ketosis (and do keto) takes a few days and those first three days of lowering can be tough.

I felt cranky the first two weeks and once my body got used to eating less and moderate exercise I’ve done much better.....give yourself a chance, it does get better 😊. Coming from someone that loves to cook and eat!

Girls, I also tried keto.... what a huge bitch i turned into. lol i just have to stick to healthy eating and exercise.

Yay to healthy eating & exercise! and however that looks to you :) I find it fascinating how diverse the diet plans are here with everyone just working towards a common goal!

It’s not just you wanting what you’re cutting out, it’s the different bacteria that live in your gut that will literally try to influence the way you think so that they get the food they want. You need to go through the difficulty and feed the other bacteria army with the good food your trying to eat. I find the microbiome so interesting. And I find it interesting that we’re not just fighting our own thoughts and desires, but their survival instinct too. It made it easier for me when first making the change (although I’m high carb, low added sugar). It was easier for me thinking of it as an external (/internal) influencer and not just my own feelings.

@Jenk256 - that is really interesting! I am trying to slowly wean myself off condiments (seems to be my biggest sugar source) and find healthier options. It sure is a journey of learning & experimenting!

I’ve learned to flavour my food more....I find myself adding more hot stuff and in general more flavour equals less condiments....good luck....😊

I’m sure this seems sexist, but I think that Keto is easier for males. We genetically crave more proteins. Nevertheless, you still have watch your food choices - cheese is my downfall.
