Debbie Cousins's Journal, 17 Jan 19

I need to expand my tea horizons! I'm not a coffee drinker. My 2-liter a day caffeine addiction has been to Diet Coke for decades. Ive "quit" numerous times over the years (NONE so far this year!) I've only recently started drinking hot tea to "feel like a grownup" and get warmed up on these cold winter mornings. To give you an idea of what I LIKE (so far), I've only really had Twinings Earl Grey and Salada Green Decaffeinated. I'd prefer to ONLY drink decaf, to reinforce my caffeine/soda ban. Ideas for a novice tea-drinker???

The red berry infusion, chai, and vanilla sound like possibilities. Don't know that I'd like Ginger Tumeric or Pure Fennel??? Of course, I guess I can't definitively say until I have TRIED them all, huh? Trying to expand my horizons.

sliced ginger (2-3 slices, or 1/8"), 1-2 Tbsp lemon juice, and 1-3 tsp honey, to taste. I love adding an herbal mint tea bag or a drop of mint oil. Mmm.

I've recently discovered raspberry leaf tea, and I really like it! It tastes like black tea and it has no caffeine!

Two of my favorites are Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice (caffeine-free) and Stash White Chai (relatively low caffeine). Love tea!

Great suggestions, everyone. @kiralorraine, I would never have thought of making tea "from scratch!" What a brilliant idea!

Of course, coffee is my drink. It is absolutely my favorite thing on this earth. Buttttttttttttt I also like tea. Chai tea steeped in milk with pure vanilla and one pack of splenda. I drink cinnamon apple tea several times a day. My tea is always with 2 bags. I like it very strong. Stash, Tazo, Celestial, Bigelow. I really never met a tea I didn't like. Prince of Peace is very good: Their white and puerh(sp) together for a cup of tea is awesome, but have to order those from Amazon. Ginger tea is awesome. I steep cup of honey, 1 tsp. ginger, 1 tsp. garlic, T. of olive oil. I take tsp. every morning. When I am sick 1 tsp. 3 times a day. It is a natural antibiotic. It is very good in tea also. Earl Grey is excellent and Constant Comment is very good. When we were in Canada on Lake of the Woods at Kenora we stopped a restaurant for tea. I was so sure we would get something special. It was a Lipton tea bag. I am still laughing.
