Gym yesterday, dance last night - I got in my 10,000 steps!

Fridge organization day! Out with the limp and rotting, and putting all the good foods in their place. I don't know how people can live with a chaotic food storage system. In my house, growing up and also bringing up my children, all the food went to specific places. This makes it easy to organize eating. I grew up helping with food storage and prep as a child, and then taught the same to my children. My ex was also organized that way. If you have two or more people helping with shopping and cooking, being organized means that everyone can help with the eating plan. I have a friend who is so disorganized it makes me sad to see her house. Ask her if she has any rice or beans, and she has to stop and think about the last time she went shopping and figure out what she did with the food she bought. Her fridge, freezer and shelves are stuffed with food but half the time she goes out and buy something for dinner that day because she can't remember what is in her cabinets.
My freezer is overstuffed right now, but I know what is in there and what I am going to do with it.
January is BUY NOTHING MONTH! I have plenty of food. Now for the planning challenge! Luckily I have almond milk, evaporated milk, and cocoa mix for coffee so here goes!

I completely agree. Being disorganized causes waste of both food and money.

I love it!! I have not always been so organized, but more and more i really hate to waste food. Your friend's house would make me crazy, i think. Planning, shopping and cooking for one (X2, bc my roommate and i eat completely differently) without wasting food is a challenge! I cleaned out yesterday (garbage came today - ha!) and made a big pot of soup.

I am an organization nut myself! I find when I have my world ordered, I am a better version of myself and can show up more authentically in my relationships and in my work. I love your intention for January to be a "buy nothing month". Use up what you got, for sure. Here's to 2019 🙌

My kids would call it garbage soup but it was always good. I still do that. Grains, beans, veggies get tossed into a soup pot with some veggie stock. Usually slow cook some chopped onions in olive oil to up the flavor before adding veggies and stock. Easy also to freeze in small batches for work lunches or to heat up @ home. It drives me crazy when my kitchen is disorganized. My frig even with just me gets a bit messy now and then but not for long. I try to go through it at least every weekend.

I always use limp veg a spices in soups curries stews or chillies. Spicy food is great for food that's a little past best.. and those slow cook dishes don't require freshness - great for left overs too!! I chuck them all in! Don't waste it :)

Mom called that "Must-go" soup. What ever leftovers that didn't get eaten in time, "must go" into soup. Never the same soup twice in a row but always delicious.
