Good Sunday morning, fs!

Well, i feel like i have been on a bender and now i am waking up amid the wreckage... Up 3-7-ish pounds. Ugh. Sure it is not all "real" but some is!! Idk, i just become obsessed with food. The chicken dip singing to me from the fridge. The pretzels and nuts providing backup and harmony. It is like i loosen the strings a little and then just go haywire. It is definitely not physical hunger. Also, i think the holidays kind of naturally get me down, but the food is the one thing i have always liked that never lets me down!

Next year i am going to line up some volunteer gigs, i think, or maybe a charity walk with the dog. ty to Siegels for reminding me that would be a way to get out of my head, and out of the kitchen.

I did not work out yesterday. I have been back to working out for 5 weeks, but have had to go into weekend and double up three times. i have decided to try a new strategy. I am going to do my double-up workouts on Mondays. Noticing that early in week i add "optional" workouts, like cize and helga, and by the weekend i have run out of gas and am resentful. I feel like i workout nearly every day, but i am always struggling to catch up. So i will try to do a reset tomorrow, and i think i will do helga today, just to try to burn off some buffalo chicken dip and pretzels.

I know i want to transform my body slowly (for many reasons), and i am not on a timetable, but i feel slightly panicked that tomorrow i am going to wake up and it is going to be April and i am going to weigh 210#.

Sorry everyone! I was singing a different tune last night. But the struggle is real!

Hope everyone has a good day, and travel safe if you are on the road!

Some powerful truths there. I agree the struggle is real. And it is hard. Hang in there.

"but i feel slightly panicked that tomorrow i am going to wake up and it is going to be April and i am going to weigh 210#." YES. I completely empathize with this. The unease is real. I wonder if it will ever go away? I hope so. I think we just have to be patient, right?

We are all here to help each other through these hard times. You can do this! Take a breath. Close your eyes and see how terrific you WILL look, and feel in April. It's Your Power, take it!

First, you are not alone! Everyone on this site has a convoluted and obsessive relationship with food in one way or another or they wouldn't be here. The ONLY way I eat 'right' is when the 'bad' stuff isn't around - like you I love my own cooking and if I make something tasty it will be devoured - all of it - so i try to eat basic - a salad, piece of meat, a plain veg, a potato (can't give those up!) - it's not as exciting as dips or hot dishes or fancy veg but it also isn't as tempting - I also cook only what I can eat at the time because I know if I cook enough that should last 2 or 3 days I eat it all in one sitting - I just do. Be good to yourself around the holidays especially if you get depressed - adding more stress to yourself will only make it harder. And maybe don't 'double' up any exercises - you may be getting exhausted because your body is doing too much. We made it through holiday 1 so we've only got xmas left! Bah humbug :)

Another thing I do that REALLY helps is that I don't go grocery shopping in person - I pick up my groceries at Walmart. I do my online list over time and add in everything I love as I think about it - good, bad and ugly! Then right before I order I look at the list and ask if each item is a good idea - then I take off all (or as close as I can get to all) the bad stuff and leave the healthy stuff - then I hit 'order now' really, really quick so I can't change my mind! When i go pick up the stuff I don't have a chance to buy all the crap I do when I go to the grocery store and shop myself - plus I don't have to go in the store and I hate shopping - for me it's really helped.

Jen, I like what Nikeit said. I completely use food as comfort or reward especially during the holidays. I did so much better last Thanksgiving than this year. Probably because I had the attitude that I could "afford" the extra calories, but that's not true and will only add to the amount of work I now have to do to get where I want to be. I am still learning.

Oh yes! That reality of the whole thing - the struggle - the love/hate relationship! You’ve got this though! AND may I just say - there is a real definition of your waist in this photo that I have never noticed!!!

Ty gals. I appreciate the support. Nike, ty for offering so many great strategies -- i realize i used a lot of those in the beginning, but now i have gotten very lax! Very good idea about a final "once-over" of your grocery list and then deleting! As i said on your thread, my grocery shopping needs an overhaul. And yes, it is only two or three actual holidays but i manage to stretch it out for eight weeks, lol. @becca, i hope you had a nice holiday with your fam! Yes! I feel like i learned something or have it down, but i keep finding out i am still learning! Ty @liv, @officially (patience is not my strong suit, lol), @gigiphilby, @kikibee!! @crazy8, nice to see you!!

I get that - I start with the holiday depression in October and it isn't over until after New Years - I love January 2nd!! Walmart has a couple things which might help with the online grocery stuff - one is that you can say which items you want substituted and which you don't - the couple times they substituted it was pretty much an exact match but another brand (a name brand) or bigger size and they only charged me the price for the original one I ordered. They also tell you in your list if something has gone out of stock so you can choose something else if you want - since I add to my list over time this is helpful - I usually 'check out' the night before I want to do the pick up so they usually have everything. I wasn't sure about using them because it is walmart after all but so far they have done a great job and the produce has been really good - and if you have an issue you just tell them (they give you a link to give feedback with you final email bill) - they have been super great about the couple things I complained about and took it off my bill right away - they have even sent an extra coupon. I've tried a couple other places but this is the only one I will stick to - their customer service is really amazing and fast - plus it is free which is right in my price range! This is just FYI - please feel free to ignore my rambling!
