NSV. 255 pounds for 10 reps on flat barbell bench press today. No spotter. Bodyweight 185 upon waking. Still increasing strength.

Lol, but I also don't use clips so that I can slide the weight off on each side. I wouldn't want to cave my chest in lol

I've never had a spotter for 99.9 percent of my lifting career. Only recently the likelihood has increased since I finally have a workout partner.

Diablo, that's an awesome accomplishment. But the mom in me is cringing about the other stuff. 😲

Okay, keep that partner nearby. I have a friend who is an anesthesiologist. He had a stroke at 46 and is almost fully recovered after two years. Back to lifting. Only problem, no feeling in his left hand. He has to have a spotter. Rock on with your bad self, Diablo!

No spotter! That sends up a red flag to me but then I only use little 3 lb dumbbells, so what do I know.

your a work horse mate💪 my strength stopped increasing months ago. I won't get any stronger now unless I get bigger I don't think. have to work out if I want to get bigger, do keep toying with the idea

Thanks Terra and Jack! So today I was able to do more on incline then I was doing on flat bench from a couple months ago. Pumped up 230 for 10 on incline. Woohoo. I probably should have taken a day off from bench lol

do you ever bench dumbbells? everything you can do with a bar I prefer to do with dumbbells

Oh yeah, I think most of my "gains" came from dumbbells. At my old gym, I was able to do the 130's for 10 reps. Current gym only has up to 100's and only 75's at Planet Fitness so I just go with really high reps.

I feel that I am able to target the pecs much more. Barbell tends to put a lot of stress on the shoulders.
