Finally, finally - Higi says BMI "normal." Been waiting a long time for this, BMI = 24.88, 168 lb, bf% = 20.22. Wednesday ride, 100k, in diet language that's a 3,400 cal burn. Thurs ride, just 1,500 cal ride, 30 miles, recovery ride. 40 miles today, beautiful weather in Austin. Two more 40 mile rides Sat, Sun, more lovely weather. So, a 250 mile week. Not quite the 300+ mile week I did week before last, but still 50 miles ahead of schedule for Dec.
That's ride fuel in the pic, that entire box of Belvita Breakfast bars, 1,100 cals, five packs, blessed glycogen stores, barely half of today's ride fuel. I'll get the other half of fuel from pre-ride smoothie, 500 cals, then take 400 cals in my pack.
Really enjoying being this fit at 65 years old. Crazy, I never thought my body would do this kind of stuff, and it's getting easier, go figure. Live a Good Story...

New acronym for the seven days at friends in San Antonio over Thanksgiving week, weekend - WTHOM-WOE. Way The Hell Off My WOE. And only two rides in that week, but always great to switch trails to McAllister, real mtb trails. Pics don't show the turns, because no room to stop and take pics on turns, and need to hold on for steering. Riding fellows on the trails, they really don't seem to mind the bikes. To my surprise, steady 169, even after all the holidaze pies, turkey, dressing, gravy. I was adjusting down fat Macros for Nov., but it really doesn't seem to matter much what I eat, as long as I stay physically fit. Good weather ahead. Life is good. Live a Good Story.

I Need You To Know That It Gets Better.
Medium Article by Bianca Sparacino, Toronto-based poet and creative director. She is the author of Seeds Planted In Concrete and The Strength In Our Scars. (https://psiloveyou.xyz/i-need-you-to-know-that-it-gets-better-eb93f7856c9)
I need you to know that it gets better.
I need you to know that the way you flay your heart open for the world is brave, that the way in which you refuse to be anything but soft, even when you feel like you may just break under the weight of feeling, is why you are needed here. I need you to know that beautiful things are vanishing each day, and I am proud of you for fighting to ensure that your soul is not one of them. You need to keep fighting.
I need you to know that you will find the places that leave every tender part of you feeling calm and at peace with who you are. You will find the places that inspire everything inside of you to surge and ache with the hope and the beauty of being alive. These places, they are not where you were born, but they will be where you are reborn. You will know when you have found them. My god, will you know.
I need you to know that there are others like you in this world; others who are messy hearted, others who feel things intensely, and without hesitation, others who cannot contain all that they hold within the worlds of their mind because they have only ever known how to pour, how to shatter, how to give and give and give. I need you to know that you will find these people, and they will become your family — you will take care of each other. You will grow together, in the moments between breaths, in the stunning silence that blankets your souls when you connect with the fact that in a world of billions, in the middle of all this noise, you found each other.
But most of all, I need you to know that we are all here, together, dealing with what is dark and light within us. I need you to know that you aren’t alone. I need you to know that you are going to survive this. I need you to know that one day, you’re going to be sitting in a place you love, surrounded by people who inspire you, and you’re going to think back to the storms, and the hurricanes that rattled through your bones, and you are going to smile. The clarity will wash over you.
You will be free. You will be free.

Chasing a bf% < 20. My first ever 300 mile Ride Week, last week. Some Lake pics. The scale barely moves, the bf% moves even slower, but, my new size 34" 501s that were snug two weeks ago, are not snug anymore. That's how it seems to work. Weight numbers barely move, but waist is still shrinking. Happy Thanksgiving, ya'll.
