I pushed myself during my 5K on Saturday and had a hamstring strain after the first mile. I did finish the race but was in pain. It was not fun. I was really upset about the injury so I overate on Saturday, a real carb fest of emotional eating. I also didn't log everything. My weight shot up 4 lbs which is actually normal for my refeed days. I'll need to find some other exercise to maintain my aerobic fitness. I'm giving myself a couple of days of rest for my hamstring and then will try some different machines in the gym. Here's a picture of me before the race.

I'm sorry to hear that (about your injury), CH! Must be frustrating when simply trying to 'up your game' comes back to bite you . . . definitely take a few days off to recover and don't sweat the carbfest . . . you're looking pretty fantastic right where you are!!

Catherder, Losinit has said everything so perfectly that I can't think of anything unique to add, so I'll just ditto what she said.

Sorry to hear about the hamstring injury. Whatever caused my sciatic issue to flare up got better over a few weeks and I've been able to do some jogging since then. Hopefully your injury will heal up quickly with some rest, give it some time. Just walking is a good way to keep moving if you can do that without a problem. Looking good in the pic!

Awww, Cat, sorry about the recurring hamstring pain - I also would have been quite frustrated. What a hero - you finished the race anyway. I am learning about pushing myself but having limits, too. I now love the elliptical...
