Fritzy 22's Journal, 24 Jan 24

Had the knee MRI yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I had expected when I called to set up the appointment they told me I would be all the way in the tube and even the doctor said my head would be near the opening, but inside the tube. But my head and shoulders were outside, so no fear of claustrophobia. It was noisy but I was prepared for that. I expected either my primary care doctor or the orthopedist will call me about the results. I have another appointment with the orthopedist next week.

It's supposed to rain on and off most of the day. Will have to hope for a short period of time when I can get outside for a walk of 20 minutes or so.

Struggling a bit with my eating the last day or two. Haven't logged a few things so I know my carbs have been over my goal. Decided to have a cup of hot chocolate last time including miniature marshmallows (will be glad when that bag is empty!). Hopefully I'll get back on track today. Bought a bag of my favorite salad mix and have a couple of avocados I need to use. I stepped on the scale this morning and am up close to 3 pounds since I posted my weight on Sunday. Hopefully it will come back down by next Sunday. I did resist the urge to get into the saltine crackers last night! Sometimes when I go a little off plan I will go crazy and eat whatever I want.

Sounds like the best MRI I have heard of. Raining here too - for days.

Thanks Morticia. Its been raining for a couple hours now and it will likely continue. I'm glad the MRI wasn't so bad. The worst part was they gave me a gown to put on and also some pants in the gown fabric. I couldn't get the pants up over my thighs! I was told they had them in different sizes but nothing bigger was available right then. Not a great feeling when I was so happy about losing 6 pounds the first 3 weeks of January. But the gown came down to my ankles so it was okay

Thanks Liv. I don't get as much knee pain now, not even every day so I am hoping for good news from the MRI. Hoping to get back on track with my eating today.

Happy to hear that your MRI wasn’t as bad as you anticipated. Hopefully the results will be positive for you. Sorry to hear that you’re struggling with eating, it seems like we’re on the same path! I ended up gaining 3 pounds after I lost it, and I’m just now getting back to where I was. Congratulations on avoiding a saltine fiasco! I buy the box that has the smaller stacks inside, but I need them to make one that only has about 4-6 crackers in each sleeve! Then again, I once bought a bag of individually portioned chips, thinking that it would keep me from overeating, and instead I just kept going to the pantry for another little bag! At least I got some steps going back and forth! 🤣

Broccolibabe! I wrote a 2nd entry about the MRI results. You sound so much like me when it comes to eating. My local grocery store has a box of Saltines with just one sleeve, but I'm such a tight sad I bought the regular box with 4 sleeves because they were nearly the same price. Once I bought a bag of oven cooked potato chips and counted out individual servings sizes and put in baggies in the pantry. But like you, I kept going back to the pantry and kept eating them. Also did that with molasses cookies from the grocery store. Froze one cookie in baggies and put them hem up n the garage freezer. That plan just doesn't work for me although I do keep trying!

I understand how you feel. January is always a hard month for me. I think it's the short days.
