A silly idea, but when I get to the 70’s (sitting now at just over 180 lbs), I’m going to celebrate with some hits from the 70’s. Some Queen or ABBA, maybe? Already looking for some exhilarating and dancey music 💃. I’ll take some suggestions or favorites! Then music from the 60’s when I get under 170, etc all the way to my weight goal of 150. How do you celebrate on the way down to your goal? If you’re in maintenance, do you celebrate being in maintenance for some round period of time? Just curious if others mark these moments in some way. Have a great day, everyone!

Not silly at all. Great idea!! TOTALLY LOVE IT!! You go girl!!! My favorite 70s songs and favorite 70s dance songs are sometimes different and I danced my way through the 60s and 70s. I was the dancing queen. I love all kinds of music and all kinds of dance. For 70s dancing songs I prefer songs like "Carwash" - love, love love that. "We are Family". "Lady Marmalade". "Love Train" - Ditto. "Stayin Alive". "Le Freak". "Sexy Thing". "You Should Be Dancing". "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough". "Ladies Night". "Shame, Shame, Shame". "Shake Your Groove Thing". "September". "Shake Your Booty". "Y.M.C.A." "Hot Stuff". "Get Down Tonight". "Ain't No Stoppin Us Now". "That's The Way I Like It". "Superstition." "Best of My Love". "Boogie Oogie Oggie". "The Loco-motion". "Good Times". "Come and Get Your Love". Don't wait to get started though. Go ahead and start Shaking Your Groove Thing now! (For sexy dancing, with or without clothes, pick Marvin Gaye.) If you are into other types of music then "Love Her Madly". "Margaritaville" "Sweet Home Alabama". "Takin Care of Business". Brown Sugar". "You Never Even Called Me By My Name". "Kiss An Angel Good Morning". "Luckenbach, Texas" "Women I've Never Had".

Wow, thank you so much for all the suggestions, Ann and Morticia! Morticia, I know only about a third of the songs you mentioned—I will have to check them out! The 70’s had some really fantastic singers and bands. Thanks for putting this playlist together😀. It will be great for one of those days of food prep, cooking (and dancing) in the kitchen.

ABBA is the JAM in our world. Hubby's ringtone on my phone is HONEY HONEY, and the regular one is SUPER TROOPER. Never any doubt who's phone is ringing. I get great reactions when it rings in stores.

Tina Turner. She released Simply the Best in 1989 so hurry and fit that one in today ! In the 70's she released Nut Bush City Limits which is my favorite dance song. For inspiration check out her dancing as well as her backup singers on you tube.

Thank you all—sharing this idea with you was fun! Today, the scale says 179.8 lbs and That’s the Way I Like It! My humble basement gym will be renamed YMCA and I will boogie oogie and shake my booty in it, too! Might even start feeling like a “Sexy Thing” again!😝

That's a cute idea. You asked what we do: I recently started trying to get something every 10 lbs lost. So far it's been boring stuff as trying not to spend too much. Got a new water bottle that can also be a fruit infuser. Portable tea kettle (insulated water bottle shape) i can plug in my room and drink detox herbal teas before i go to kitchen while I get ready. So of course also got a great portable sealed tea cup (water bottle shape). In future I'll probably get healthy books or programs i want to try to keep from getting bored and when thinner, maybe a shopping spree at a thrift store... So I think it's great you are planning celebrations at each milestone giving you something to look forward to.
