Ok, I think I'm ready for the heat wave. I have an A/C unit but the problem is I'm not allowed to have it in my living room window because the property management deems it hazardous due to an accident in one of their other buildings and I can't afford to buy the portable A/C (the one with the hose). And the window that it would go in sits above the balcony. And the other fact is that I have no little ones who come into my apt. But I run the risk of loosing my apt if I am caught with the a/c in the window. FML!!

And it's not so much the heat as it is the humidity. Currently in my apt is 28.6C but with a 30% humidity. Go outside and it's 32.8C and 43% humidity and it's only 9am. Well at least based on my Accu|Temp temperature/humidity device it is. So my goal today is to do very little and hope the next two days pass by quickly.

Hope everyone else is doing well today.

Oh goodness - yes this heat is definitely tough especially if upi don’t have air conditioning. Hope your day flies by and the cooler weekend will feel marvelous.

I love our heat pump rental unit! They're very energy efficient in the summer and in the winter. My wife and I own our own half of a duplex in a Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, and we're able to rent the heat pump from our local power company. It's installed in our living room and connected to the outside unit with only a small hole connecting them, and then wired into the basement circuit board. You should look into getting one of them installed in your apartment with your landlord's permission. In blocks of flats where outdoor space is limited, modern air source heat pumps are available too, which can operate entirely internally, removing any need for an external fan unit, I read online. Our electric heat bill is way less in the winter than it was before installation and it's not expensive to run it in the summer either. It keeps the temperature comfortable all year round. FYI. I hope that this helps you out too! Try to stay cool, and great work with your weight loss program! Keep up your hard work!

I second the heat pump. Unfortunately can't use it right now due to air quality issues outdoors. Got it last year. Find it cools/heats far more quickly than the in window or portable units did.
