Good morning everyone! Recovering from a near death experience this past weekend. Okay, perhaps that's a little over dramatic, but it sure seemed like it! Sicker than a dog all day Sunday, vomiting and dry heaves. It was a beautiful sunny, eighty degree day and I layed in bed literally until 5:30 pm. Ugh, misery. I've gone back and updated my food diary for the weekend to the best of my ability. I didn't record anything that immediately came back up lol.
Yesterday was spent re hydrating.Today I'm still not feeling one hundred percent back to par but I did get to the gym for a workout, although not at my regular intensity. Still dead serious about making some real progress this month.
The struggle is real trying to teach my daughter healthier eating habits. I've gotten her unsweetened almond milk to have in her cereal because there is no sugar in it and it's still pretty fortified. I've gotten her some sugar free drink mixes to replace kool-aid, although I've told her to keep it to one or two glasses a day. I'm not trying to bombard her with artificial sweeteners but It's hard trying to get all of the excess sugar out of a ten year old's diet. Ugh, doing the best I can. Not easy.
OB orientation went very well. The instructor seems very nice and definitely approachable. Fingers crossed that this will end up being a great experience.
Hope everyone is well!

I hope your daughter ends up just as dedicated as you early on. I hope you feel better soon! I'm sorry you had to miss such a wonderful day!

Hope you are continuing to feel better. So frustrating to be sick when the spring weather is amazing!! Good job for teaching your daughter better ways of eating. Wish all my teaching of my children had sunk in with them more than it did, just thankful some of it did. All in their 30's now so Mom has no control ;))

Hope you continue to feel better - that certainly is not much fun. BTW - Hope you have better luck with your daughter's food than I do with DH's.

You my dear sound like a wonderful mother. I would of killed to have my mother know the knowledge I know today. I would of loved if my mom fed me more steak, veggies and chicken as a baby rather than peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I was never a fat child but All throughout middle and high school I always had slight baby fat that I could never get rid of. I always wanted to be thinner like the "popular girls" I started yo yo dieting as young as 15. Just keep the transition slow with your daughter. In the future she will thank you for getting her hooked on healthy meats and veggies rather than junk food. She could avoid going through much uneeded weight issues like many of us of had gorwing up. I think you are doing great!!!!!!

One of my favorite things about this healthier lifestyle I have undertaken is watching my kids gobble up vegetables at dinner or ask if they can have fruit at the grocery store. Then again, my daughter did recently ask me when I was going to reach my goal so we could have some good snacks again! :)

Love it!! Like the fact my grandkids raid the fruit in my house and eat raw fresh veggies. They also love homemade whole grain bread. I make sure I have a supply of fresh fruit when I know they are coming.

You are doing great with your daughter. Unfortunately, there are so many outside influences in a child's life and sources of bad nutrition. Home is where the foundation starts and you are leading by example! Good for you! Hope you are feeling much better now!
