Ive been tracking most of what I eat but there were a few things that snuck by. Thats ok, progress not perfection. I will get there but at least Im trying which is more than I can say for the past year. This week is more about getting myself into the habit of doing it, next week Ill be more focused on getting everything logged. Im not hitting my macros either. Im way under in protein and over in calories. I will get there, it will just take some mindset shifting and paying a little more attention.

One of the problems I have when I begin a diet is that I end up eating more "good for me" food. Like, its all healthy stuff but I dont need THAT much of it. Thats another thing Im working on this week, trying to balance. I think that I will pre-log a couple of days because that seemed to work in the past.

I feel ya. I tend to think of the calorie goal as a number I HAVE to reach instead of not go over. Sometimes if I’m way under my daily goal, my brain tries to convince myself to eat something more even if I’m not hungry.

That is where weighing your foods really comes in handy. Weigh out the amount you want to consider to be a serving, that eliminates the guesswork and you can easily do the same thing daily.

I read somewhere on your posts that you want to track your water..... I use the "smart water" water bottles. (1 liter each) Nothing fancy and I refill them with tap water. I carry 4 of them in a bag every day. They are easy to handle compared to gigantic jugs or bottles that are flimsy and collapse when lifted. I do carry an insulated cup to refill as needed My goal is to get 2 down before I eat anything. Then one more during the afternoon. Last one started before I head home and finish it by bedtime. It's not an app, but it's working for me. (Third liter has electrolytes added to it!) best of luck - drink more water!

PeppyM - I will be working in Berlin for the Special Olympics World Games! Im hopeful that I will be able to actually get out and not just work the whole time, but either way its a great opportunity! 3dkids2- Your comment made me laugh because I literally carry a water bottle with me everywhere I go - I just never use it haha. I like your suggestions though and tried to make an effort to take a drink every time I wanted a snack on Friday night and got through the whole bottle pretty quick. Im going to work on doing that more this week and hopefully I keep on it. I actually do like drinking water, I dont know why I suck at it so bad!
