Happy Sunday! 🌞🌻

There's not a bit of sunshine here today...it's a soggy Sunday ☂🌧 in the PNW. But there's plenty of sunshine in my heart, as I think of how grateful I am to be a part of this community.😎

Thinking about my FS goals for this next week...
#1)try making quinoa for the 1st time
#2)resistance band exercises 3+ days
#3)8+ glasses of water PER DAY!! (Drink like it's my JOB!!)
#4)start setting up my container vegetable garden

Anyone else feel like sharing their goals? I think it might help other members to be inspired👍🌼

Today I shared some more 100 calorie snacking ideas. It helps to see just how much a reasonable portion would be when the 'munchies' hit. Hope you're having a great weekend and remembering to focus on your overall progress rather than the day to day weight fluctuations that inevitably happen!

@liv001...My daughter sent me a link to a channel on YouTube (https://youtu.be/agKxK19fxZk) where she uses totes to make 'raised beds'. This looks like the cheapest, easiest answer for me with my physical limitations...I'm excited!!

II buy multiple different kinds of nuts and seed and make 100-150 calorie snack packs. I don’t make them all the same. Some have more edamame nuts, some more pistachio or pecan or walnut, etc. some have raisins, or cranberries. After they are made I put the packets in a big jar and just pull one out when I’m packing up to hike or swim or just anticipated a long day of driving. No last minute throwing something together or being so hungry I end up eating so,Ethiopian g that I would really prefer not too. A life same.

Perfect timing for my shopping list! Once again, thank you for the visuals, CrystalJo! :-)

Packing up measured snacks is a great strategy, Kenna. We have a workplace fitness challenge going on, and my goal is to take the lead for our team. Don't know if I can pull it off because the woman ahead of me is a beast, but will try! Hope you enjoy the quinoa, CrystalJo!

Thanks for posting these healthy snacks. They're all included food choice for me except for the popcorn. I can really take or leave that. My go to snack right now is peanut butter with an apple. I'm also using my scale for most things now. I've found weighing food to be more reliable than size relying on the size of food. I've noticed that two medium apples of the same diameter can differ in weight. When I weigh by the ounce, I sometimes end up with more physical quantity on my plate no change in calories.

Look forward to hearing how your garden turns out. I looked at the youtube. Very good idea

Kenna, I make snack packs too, great for when I'm driving to Louisiana.

@Kenna...I think it's fun to make up 'snack bags' too! My hubby has had no concept of serving sizes (though he's juuuust starting to pay attention😉) and it sure saves $$ to put them together from bulk! Thanks for the reminder...I need to put some together for 'travel kits' again👍

@YetAnotherAccountLOL98...depends on the size of the avocado 😉 (I buy the bundles of 5-7 very small avocados.) But that's why I weigh EVERYTHING to make sure👍

@losingtowin1...I have popcorn just about every single evening! Just bought a popper to make it in the microwave..and it comes out with better 'texture' than the air popped 🍿 As far as weighing goes...I usually weigh by the gram and have found the same to be true. 'Eyeballing' fruit is very unreliable 👀

@liv001...that is SO COOL that you actually watched the video💙💙 It's pretty 'Mother Earth News' type...(for those who remember those magazines😁) nothing fancy...but I think I can actually afford this setup 👍

Question about popcorn. I miss it! What type/brand do you use? What kind of microwave popper do you recommend? I really miss popcorn! :-)
