I met my younger brother at my Mom's yesterday afternoon and did fall cleanup on her yard, weeded the gardens, mowed the grass, and then it was beer sampling time. A pumpkin ale aged in rum barrels, a pumpkin ale aged in bourbon barrels, a peanut butter porter, an amber ale aged in brandy barrels with cherries, and a bottle of blackberry merlot wine that I made. Some of those beers were over 17% alcohol, good stuff but very heavy and sweet, not something you could drink a lot of. THEN....chicken and a pork butt I smoked all day yesterday plus the sides/fixins, was delicious. THEN...dessert my mom had made, which led to some leftover Halloween candy, at that point I was out of control. It was fun and I'll adjust my eating this week to compensate but I really do hope I'll learn to have better control when it comes to the sweet stuff, once I start I find it hard to stop until I'm finally sick of it.
This week I'll be paying my dues, fasting every day as long as I can stand it and limited calories in to make up for my over indulgence. 4 1/2 lbs gain to work on getting rid of.

When I have the urge to eat more then I planned for the day I just ask myself: "Is that candy worth delaying getting to your dream weigh?" The answer so far was always NO. Off course you can adjust your calories in the following days but I prefer to eat good everyday. At least you had fun :-)

Thanks Bill, I'll get the weight back down for sure. Snezica you're right. I'm fine with the beers, it's not something I do often and I don't drink to excess, but I'm weak when it comes to candy and sweet stuff. Hopefully some day I'll be able to say I have real control over it, as of yesterday it sure had control over me.

Br-e-co: The food and beer were great and it was fun spending time with my mom/brother/family. I like how you phrase it, "sugar coma", that's a good description. I'm out of it now though, feeling kind of sluggish which is a good thing, hopefully I'll remember it for next time and avoid all the junk.

All in all, sounds like you had a great family weekend. It doesn't get any better than that. You'll knock it back off, no problem.
