jmb3450's Journal, 07 Jul 14

I have found in the past week, since sweet cherries are in season and on sale at a decent price, that they are a delicious way of alleviating constipation and keeping regular. That is as long as you're careful not to eat too many on an empty stomach, otherwise the effect might not be what you want. Take some experienced advice, don't eat 30 of them and then go out shopping, not good!!

Today's weather forecast is HOT, I turned on the A/C before leaving for work so my wife would be comfortable, it's not working. Terrible timing as my wife has knee replacement surgery tomorrow and was worried about dealing with that in the heat of summer. I'm hoping that maybe it's something simple I can figure out but that's a longshot - the system is from 1980 something so replacement is inevitable at some point and maybe that time is here. My wife will be in the hospital tomorrow until sometime Thursday evening, maybe I can get someone out to look at it Friday if needed. A home equity loan in our immediate future is very likely.

I got nice compliments on my weight loss from some ladies in the office when I came in this morning wearing my new smaller size jeans and a large (not XL) shirt. That makes me feel good and gives some new incentive to keep moving forward with this. Hopefully Mr. Scale will agree this Friday at weigh in, we shall see, that's pretty much up to me and what I allow into my mouth the next few days. Feeling energized and motivated, that's a good thing. Maybe no A/C will help sweat some weight off too. Hope everyone has a great day.

Don't base it on Mr Scale. Let your clothes do the talking.

You are doing great. Compliments are a nice incentive to stay focused. And yay for cherry season. I wished they worked like that for me. But, I will still heed your advice. You just never know. Good luck with the AC.

Congrats on the success! Hope that the A/C repair is minor. Note: Cherries are great for gout, arthritis and other inflammatory diseases according to studies.

Sorry to hear about your air conditioning, and hopefully it is something simple that can be fixed. Praying that your wife knee replacement goes well and that she will soon be back on her feet and enjoying life again. You just proved that while we sometimes can't see the progress we are making, other people can. While the scale may not move, know that the inches are. Have a great day!

Praying for your wife's surgery to be successful with fast recovery. I hope your AC problem can be fixed without great expense. It is so nice when all our hard work is rewarded by friends saying they can tell we've lost weight. Best encouragement & incentive ever! Best wishes for your continued weight loss.
