jmb3450's Journal, 21 May 14

Yesterday was a hectic non-stop day, work was crazy so I didn't even have time for a lunch break so no walk. Yard needed mowing and my wife wanted help with some gardening so spent about 3 hours with that which at least gave me some calorie burn, then worked until after dark on refinishing an Adirondack chair, hope to have it done for our cookout on Saturday. No weigh in yet, I'd planned on weighing Saturday but with family staying over I might not have access to the scale when I want so I'll weigh on Friday morning.

A co-worker's birthday is today, there are 3 cakes sitting in the office, man they look good. But must resist the temptation....the pounds lost have been hard fought for and it's so easy to put it back on or stall progress, I just don't want to go there.

Thanks Andrea, I like little quotes like that, they help. I work for the food service division of one of the largest school systems in the country and our school meals have to meet nutritional standards at both the state and federal level. You'd think the stuff people bring would be healthy but most of the time it's not. Our director (who is skinny) has a huge candy bowl in her office full of chocolate which she doesn't eat...I think it's there to keep the rest of us fat.

Hmmm....forget to eat? What's that like? I think my food memory has never failed me. But I stuck pretty close to my RDI so I hope the extra calorie burn will show in the scale.

Try not to think about it. If you do, just run through your mind how toxic it is to your body, i.e. liver, pancreas, arteries...so on...that's what I do a lot and it helps!

First of all you are right you did burn a lot of calories working in the garden and working on the chair. Second, I can't tell you how proud I am of you for not giving into temptation, that is a huge thing to accomplish. I hope you have a fantastic day !!!!!!
