Barbara4572's Journal, 25 Jan 14

I've got to take a good hard look in the mirror and try to figure out why I keep sabotaging myself. I did so well taking off that 55 or so pounds, from 2011 to 2012. Gained 15 back and just can't get moving. Thank goodness I never stopped working out or I may have gained it all back. Afraid to weigh tomorrow, hopefully the numbers aren't up. I do great all day, then munch at night, and not just a little bit. Maybe I should post pics so I have to look at them.

Great idea! I do have a "fat" pic hanging on the fridge, but looking at myself in a bathing suit would certainly make me think twice, or one would think! You're right I CAN DO THIS!

dont put a NEGATIVE photo up...put one up of yourself that makes you smile and remember how you felt. Part of any goal is visualization...start to think you already look like that girl on the fridge (thin version, lol), feel that way, BELIEVE IT...its the law of the universe. WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT, YOU BRING ABOUT. POSITIVE THOUGHTS :)

Never really thought of it that way. I think I do have a thin photo somewhere. LOL

I took a photo of me at almost my high weight of 260 and I used Paint to attach a current photo from Christmas at 208. Talk about motivation to keep this thing going !!!! WOW. I am CAPABLE. I can do this !!!!!!! I'm 205 now, and taking the rest of the way (41 lbs) one day at a time, one pound at at time. Gaining a little, hitting plateaus, and then losing again is all part of the process as our bodies struggle with letting go of its life-sustaining stores of fat...it's a fight, no doubt !!!!

Be aware of what you say,to yourself & to others. Our words are self-fulfilling. If you want something(to be healthy,to be slim, etc)live as if it were so,now. DO what healthy, slim, etc people do & before you know it,you HAVE reached your goals! :D Our results come from our actions.

So true! I sometimes just get down, especially when I know that my own actions are the reason I don't get the desired results. Thanks for the reminder.

happy thoughts and just one day at a time. Not every day is going to be a good eating day...its life...do your best and the rest will follow

Its true, things do have a way of getting in our way,it is "life",as RUNRGRRLL says & we shouldnt be *too* hard on ourselves, especially when there isn't anything we can do to possibly change things, however,IF we are *too kind* to ourselves, our goals & dreams of the things we *really* want can & often do slip away from us. We just need to strive for balance...& what is balance for one isn't always balance for another.
