peeperjj's Journal, 05 Apr 20

Oldest and I made an early morning Walmart run. We should have everything we need for 2-3 weeks now other than things like milk.

Still sore. It was hard to lift laundry soap off of a shelf and put away. My shoulder range of motion is more limited than usual. Stiffness I think.

Today is workout day so when I’m town we splurged and grabbed an egg McMuffin each. Didn’t fill me up and now I’m wishing I would’ve grabbed another one. I don’t normally eat breakfast. When I do I tend to be hungry all day :/. Hopefully today is different.

Hubby wants to make real stroganoff today (I bought packets that we only have to cook and add meat). I don’t care for it so asked for two hamburger patties instead since he will be cooking ground beef anyway. That’ll be a nice higher protein lunch :).

Soreness from push ups? Sounds like a good day planned!

Take care of your shoulder; I hope it settles soon.

Take care of that shoulder. Sounds like a good time for lower body workout.

Hubby can’t do lower workouts yet with his knee. I could do them alone though. I’m thinking I’ll try some pushups tonight and see if I can work it out or if it makes it worse :/.

Caution on the shoulder...I pushed when I had hip pain and it was worse after a while

I have shoulder damage and I have to rake yards sometimes. I tried to work ot out and it has tooke. years to fix my shoulders. I sleep on my back it's so bad sometimes. If your shoulders are in pain, it might be a good indicator to switch up workouts for a while. I'm with Erquiaga on that one

I did another 100 pushups. Nice and slow, 20,15,15,15,15,20, over about 8 minutes. Still hurt from the right aide of my jaw, down to my right wrist and down through the right side of my back. I skipped my bench work and cut the workout short since we dug up weeds and walked in the pasture today. Hubby gave me a quick massage which helped for awhile. I think it’s time for some pain relievers before bed. I too sleep on my back a lot. I raise my right arm over my head most nights and wake up in tears the next morning.

Thanks I will. Somehow I think I’ll have to push through this. The shoulder causes pain when I bench at the gym too. I’m unwilling to do surgery and the physical therapist, 3 years ago, told me it would never be 100% but I needed to keep using it so it doesn’t get worse or more stiff. I’m determined to gain as much muscle as possible to be more healthy as I age (39 now so I have years to build it up). Everyone has their aches and pains I imagine. This is just part of mine.

peeperjj, my husband has an old rotator cuff injury. He continues to play softball and lift. He has learned some work arounds to keep the pain in check. For example, when he starts a warm-up he will limit range of motion, then increase. Same with weights. You are right, 39 is young. Keep up the great work.
