Not there yet... thinking my celebration wouls normally involve food... But need to train my brain not to use food as a reward... Maybe find me a nice sauna... Haven't been to one in a year.

I’ve never been good at figuring out rewards. A massage maybe?

I get massaged on the regular already. But not a long one, so maybe just stretch for a long one. Sauna doesn't sound like a reward for me. I too associate food with celebrations. Which is why I posed this question. I think I'll splurge and attend a large concert.

Massage, gym session, buy a trainer package, body comp scan, manicure, nap, a day off to do whatever hobby you like... just some ideas off the top of my head of how you could celebrate :).

But honestly, I don't really reward myself, with flexible dieting I don't see the need. If I were to do it, I would also do it with food. A 9 inch cake all to myself. But don't expect to be under 200 the next morning, haha!

Maybe some new lifting/running shoes?

If I’m honest my first celebratory thought would be pizza. My 2nd would be a massage followed by a nap while hubby entertained the kids lol.

I don't know where you live, but maybe go camping at a nearby state or national park for a weekend.

Tosh, I just read your bio, and you've been through some rough times, I'm so sorry. You said you'd like to make some good friends; one way to make friends is to join groups. What kind of activities do you like? if you like to bike, join a bikers group; if you like to hike, join a hikers group. Another way to meet people is to do volunteer work; volunteer at the local hospital or at a museum or at a food pantry. Join a book club at a local library. Take a continuing education class at a local university, they offer a wide range of classes from history to writing to music to who knows what. Good luck on your journey.

My first thought is there something now that ties you to Arizona? Can you go back to Texas if that is really home and you have family therE?.. Your Employment may be part of it, but life is too short and too fragile as you well know, to be someplace where you are not happy. It might be a goal to work on. There is nothing wrong with having a celebration dinner or party if that is something you would like. A celebration does not have to be a pig out. It can be done using moderation and common sense. These are things to practice while you are on your journey—- learn to eat in a social situation without totally derailing your desire to maintain a good weight and to eat a little healthier. Summer is a hard time to get out and do active things in Arizona— Texas is as well. What do you do now to increase your physical activity.? Maybe plan a trip to California (that’s where I live)— tons of wonderful things to do here. Do something silly like go to DISNEYLAND.. Anyway, welcome and keep posting.

thanks for the ideas and comments guys. I will do something silly and/or fun. I am open to group activities. I work fulltime and have a gym membership. I go but I can't claim regularity yet.

Hi Tosh, where in AZ are you? I lived in Phoenix for 5 years, loved to do drives through the beautiful country. I wanted to see Hoover Dam and the cool bridge; hike in Monument Valley; and tour the Tombstone / Bisbee area.

I've been setting aside the little bit of money I'm not spending on snacks and sugary coffee concoctions and when I make my first goal I plan to get a book, a candle, and some of my favorite bubble bath and have a delicious soak with a book. And get my cat some catnip so she doesn't harass me while I relax. I rarely spend on myself (other than groceries) so this treat I'm looking forward to

I celebrated a few weeks ago for my 100lb milestone with new walking shoes and a couple of smaller (clothes) swimsuits and bras. Oh and new eye shadow palette.
