Venting...and hoping to encourage others that have it extra hard.

This weekend my girlfriend in Texas said to me "I see your posts about spin class and gym every day, daily walks and weekly meal prepping...I don't know why you're not losing more than you are."

And my heart sank...because I know it's true.

If I want to lose weight I have to weigh and measure every bite & go to the gym every single day and do difficult things like spin class and body pump.

There's no cutting 300 calories a day and adding a nightly walk to lose weight for me...just weren't the cards that were dealt to me.

But you know what? Who cares. Whining or complaining about it doesn't make it go away...and giving up isn't an option either because being fat is HARD...exhausting!!!!

I have hypothyroidism and suspect that might be why...some articles online say weight loss may still be difficult even with treatment.

But here I am kicking butt...anybody else out there that doesn't have it easy keep your head up. Just because it's harder doesn't mean we should give up...let's not compare ourselves to others, just keep your eye on the prize!!!

You’ve already lost 50lb with hypothyroidism. That’s a huge accomplishment! I’m super new here but that looks like a win to me. 😊 Keep up the good work girl. Some good advice someon gave me - comparison steals joy. All of our journeys will look different and that’s ok.

I never post anything on my personal profiles, it was a surprise to everyone when they saw the change. People just love to hate 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

The process is synergistic ... and has many angles..one is thought... the mind is a very powerful thing... it can make us or destroy us....our choice... Instead of thinking I have to go to the gym... think I want to go to the gym... it starts a workout with positive energy..and thus more effort and benefits... Reason for going can be effected by environment.. and sometimes can become a social event...that with other distractions can make anyone forget... why they are there.

I have exactly that problem, been dieting for years. As I am a senior high impact aerobics are not always advisable, I turned to low impact aerobics, with plenty of weights, not lost the weight but lost inches- muscle does not weigh more than fat folks a pound is a pound no matter what your weighing! But muscle takes up less room than fat hence the body shape change. Moral of this story is we can always do something. Good luck my friends.

Very encouraging words. I am going through the same thing but I know that I am still doing better than I was. Yes, who cares about what others say or think. our goal is to not only lose weight but to also have good health. ❤

uhh I can RELATE! Sorry it's so darn hard for you too! I'm recently diagnosed low thyroid and low other hormones. going to keto doc specialist in 2 WEEKS! I'll keep ya posted if the treatment helps me! my best friend 20 years is about 100 pounds. she'll never understand. she still thinks I just need to cut calories. hang in there, you've got us!

I've also noticed a change in some friends, it's like they want you to be fine but not better than them, I do not post much about my new lifestyle or how good I feel now, because that offends them. One of them says: umm I am not going to kill myself trying to lose weight, I feel good with my body, I love food and life is just one, blah , blah , blah another one: Why are doing exercise? you are already skinny

There are very few people today who don’t have some type of issue that potentially affects their life, their health. You are working with yours and the others must deal with their own hard situations
