kathyeastlick's Journal, 10 Dec 15

I just hate that I let the scale dictate how I feel. After having a few good days of clean eating (but not a lot of exercise) I weighed myself and I was up 3 lbs. I was sooo mad, and I fell back to eating larger portions of food. I was mad at myself, and the whole time knowing I was sabotaging myself. So I get on the scale this morning nd I find I actually lost a couple lbs. I know I shouldn't overreact, but a weight gain when you've worked hard just set me off. Went for a check up yesterday, blood pressure and blood sugar levels were really good. Now to work on cholesterol, and getting back to exercising. As many of us who are very obese, it's just so hard to move. I remember last time I tried to loose weight I started by dancing or making slow stretching movements to get limbered up, before getting a work out in. That's my main goal for today, to just get up and move.

You can do this. Make sure you take your measurements--you might be like me, and lose more inches than pounds. Pay attention to how your clothes feel, too. All of those are indicators of weight loss, not just the scale. You can do it. You CAN.

It's REALLY important to weigh yourself ONLY ONCE a week, and the SAME DAY each week. When I haven't, I've been up a down within a couple of pounds. But when I wait to do it on the same day, only once a week I ALWAYS see progress. Don't be tempted to "check" after a day of "normal" eating instead of "diet" eating. It will depress you. Stick to one day a week, once a week, first thing in the morning before breakfast. YOU CAN DO IT!
