I have been so lazy this week, personal wise not exercise wise, and I'm tired of it. So this weekend I am going to be productive and finish some volunteer paperwork that I have been ignoring for months. Here is to a weekend of work. Yay! ;)

On the other hand, I have not been lazy when it comes to exercise. I am walking at least two hours daily, yes I take breaks in between, for a month now and I actually enjoy it. I am embracing the 10,000 Step Diet, but I am incorporating tracking my calories and making sure that said calories are close to my RDI. For right now, I am okay, but I am always aware of weight-loss plateau and will adjust my "diet" when the time arises. Weight loss is a struggle and keeping the weight off is harder than gaining the weight. But the hard work is worth it.

Well, I need to finish my coffee before I start on my busy day. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good work with the exercise. Walking is really fun and can be interesting if you vary your route at times. Do you also incorporate other fun types of exercise like dancing, playing with kids or grandchildren, sports, etc. What I find the most effective is to participate in an activity that gives you joy and makes you smile.

I had a change in blood pressure medication about 6 months ago. I have not been in the practice of weighing myself and was shocked to find a 6lb weight gain three weeks ago. Looking back I realized that I was eating many of the wrong things - donuts, chips, etc. that really are no good nutrition wise for anyone. I think the med I was on seem to increase my appetite. The weight gain really was not a surprise after reviewing my past eating behaviors. My BP was way up there 160 and I was feeling lousy. I see my doctor every 6 months for physical and check on BP unless something else comes up. Now I am on a new medication and I feel so much better. My BP was 124, which makes me very happy. I have lost 3 of the 6 pounds in a three week period. I don't mind losing only 1 pound a week because I am not very overweight - maybe 8 pounds. I would also like to lose an additional 4 pounds for a total of 10. I think tracking my food, exercise, and weight is a good practice for me because it makes me very conscious of what I am eating, allowing me to make better food choices most of the time. I do like to indulge once in awhile and I think that is good for me. I may actually have a small glass of wine (first one in a month.) Exercise has always been a part of my life each day. I truly believe that exercise is an elixir for the bod and soul and while I may not live longer doing it, I think that I will have a more enjoyable life because I can do more of the things I enjoy doing. Now that makes me very happy.
