59Carol's Journal, 25 Feb 23

I gained weight this week and I honestly don't know why. Throughout the week my weight ranged from 179.6 (beginning of the week) to 182.0 (today). Each day it increased until the highest weight was this morning. My average calories last week and this week are nearly identical and yet last week I lost 1.6 pounds and this week I gained 1.4 pounds.

The only thing that I can up with is that I have had an extremely stressful week. My father in law had a number of medical emergencies that involved ambulances and hospital visits and cumulated in his death at his home 3 days ago. My daughter and granddaughter stayed with him during his last night so he had family with him. It has been a very difficult time trying to provide him with appropriate care but on his terms. He was two weeks shy of his 92nd birthday.

Stress is extremely hard on your body. Live in Grace. You will get back in the swing of loosing as you process your loss. Give your heart and mind time to heal. Stay on your healthy path to the best of your ability, but don't beat yourself up if you stray. The only failure is quitting. 🙏🙏 For peace.

So sorry for your loss! I had a woman say to me one time... maybe right now weight loss is not your main focus. Don't stress about it and take care of yourself and your family.

So sorry for all the stress you've been through in the passing of your father-in-law! Yes, that can definitely affect the number on the scale.

I truly appreciate the outpouring of support and comfort. He had a full life and was prepared to go however it is never easy to watch the family shrink yet again. I am down to my sister, children and grandchildren for close relatives. Five people...hard to imagine that we have so few.
