Fritzy 22's Journal, 06 Jan 23

Made it through day 6 so now I can focus on day 7. The new WOE isn't easy but the holiday weight is almost off. Goal for the year is to lose 1 pound a week. Last year it was 5 pounds a month which had always been easy but I didn't come close to it.

It's supposed to be a dry day in most places but I but we'll get some rain here and then another storm comes in tomorrow and ANOTHER on Monday which may be a bigger storm then what is going on now.

You’re doing great with this!👍 I am sure one pound a week is less pressure than the five pounds a month. That’s wonderful your holiday weight is mostly gone. I can’t say that just yet! Staying on track but it takes time. I had a beyond burger on a gf bun last night with onions, mushrooms and a half cup of baked beans. Put me up this morning. It’s ok, we have ups and downs on this healthy journey. Hope the storms stay under control for you and Bobby stays dry!:)

Thanks APhoebe! It's really nice outside now at 8am. Looking forward to getting out for a little while today before the next storm.

Thanks Navywife - I thought I would lose about 20 pounds before the end of the year in 2022, but then gained the 6 pounds over the holidays. I was going to set a goal of 25 pounds for 2023 but then thought 1 pound a week should be doable. Love baked beans! Hav 6-8 cans in the pantry that I will need to work into my daily diet at some point. Right now I am allowing myself up to one food that I really shouldn't have. One day it was coffee, twice I've had canned tomato soup. The baked beans and tomato soup were fine on the low fat diet, but not good at all for the anti inflammatory diet.

Thanks Mom2Boxers - hope you have a good start on your new focus! The first of the year is always a good time for me to start over or just to make some changes.

Thanks Morticia - crossing my fingers I can keep to the WOE. I saw someone wrote in their journal a few days ago that to just focus on the day you are on and then work on the next day. So I am trying not to look too far ahead

I think working in a half cup or so of the beans here and there wouldn’t be bad. Last night, I thought, hmm, more protein! lol I think your method is good to focus on one day at a time and sustainable!:)👍

Your goals are realistic and doable. I like what person said about focusing on one day etc. I'm getting frustrated cuz I'm back in the 130s and seem to be staying there. I'm working out everyday, added 2 days of cardio classes, trying to snack on veggies and protein snacks etc yet the weight will not go down...I'm gonna keep working it though..👍

thanks Navywife - protein is the reason I have the beans but never worried about the added sugar until now. I never do low carb diets but on a diet that "discourages" added sugar I have to think about it.

thanks Diana - I know how you feel. When I started a low fat diet last year I quickly lost 10-12 pounds and then just stopped losing even though eating the same way. Years ago I got down to a low of 129. My weight easily fluctuates up to 5 pounds. So I stayed in a range of 129-134 for awhile, although I don't think I ever hit 129 except for one day. Eventually a range of 132-137 was comfortable for me. If I got to 132 I'd go to Red Robin, if I reached 137 I got really strict with what I ate until I got back where I was comfortable. It sounds like you are doing everything right, but it might take a few days.

Fritzy - are apples OK? I found this recipe for baked beans that uses apples instead of added sweeteners. You might Google around for some others. I'm sure you could substitute canned beans (no salt if you want) for the dried to make it a little less epic of a project https://theveganlarder.com/the-best-vegan-baked-beans-sugar-free-recipe/
