Fritzy 22's Journal, 02 Nov 22

The rain was disappointing yesterday. Rained very lightly for maybe an hour on and off. There was one big boom of thunder.

It was cold last night and cold this morning. Took one of the fans out of the bedroom and brought in the space heater.

Going back to the market today for milk - it should be on the shelves by now. Ever since Covid the grocery stores are not well stocked and I've had to learn delivery days. Now that inflation is so high I notice in the bread isle that any breads that are on sale are gone. No one wants to pay $7 or $8 for a loaf of bread. Can't believe $4.99 is a sale price.

Managed to stay in bed even though the cats and Bobby were bugging me until 6am. Had to take Bobby out with a flashlight. He just can't wait until it gets light. Maybe after we set our clocks back it will be better in the morning for a little bit. Now I'm going to make my coffee and drink it in bed and wait for it to get light.

Hope you get milk today! I pay over $6 for my gf bread. It is frozen and I only have a few slices a week so I just do it but it lasts a long time. Hope the time change helps. Enjoy your day!:)

thanks Navywife - I did get the milk after going for a walk in the cold weather! I freeze bread when I buy it and usually use 1 slice at a time. If I buy bagels I cut them in quarters and freeze them. 6 bagels last me forever! Thanks Morticia - back at the grocery store today and they had cream of mushroom soup. They didn't have any yesterday. The clerk said someone bought lots of it. I told her it's the time of year for cooking. People use cream of mushroom soup for green bean casseroles! I use it for gravies when I make a roast, also in stews. It's hard to get used to not being able to find whatever you want/need when you go to the grocery store. Buenitabishop thank you!

I always keep MILKMAN 2% powdered milk on hand for any kind of emergency reconstitute and put in the fridge for about an hour. You will never be able to tell the difference. I used to be able to buy that brand at Walmart but can’t find it anymore. I order from good old Amazon. I have used Walmart brand and it is also just fine, especially if you are adding to smoothies, making soup or putting in a recipe. Also much cheaper. There are a lot of things I keep on hand, just in case.
