Fritzy 22's Journal, 24 Sep 22

I hadn't posted my weight in 18 days. I don't check it daily and the few times I have it's been higher than what it is now. But it was after coffee and breakfast that I'd weigh and I know my weight goes up at least 3 pounds during the day especially if I drink lots of liquids.

Did okay yesterday. I made 1/2 of a grilled cheese sandwich and had it for lunch with tomato soup. That was my main meal. I got a fever from the Covid booster. Noticed about 6pm. Checked a few times with different thermometers. It was in the 100 - 100.7 range. Never got the chills. Was tired and achy all day and the arm where I got the shot has a huge red swollen area and is very painful if I touch it. So I don't touch it. It took me a long time to get to sleep, I tried as early as 7:30 because I was so tired. Just couldn't get comfortable anywhere. Tried the master bedrooms but it's too hot in there. Even tried the sofa and finally fell asleep in the guest room. Haven't checked, but don't think I have a fever this morning.

We usually get some kind of reaction to any vaccines. At least a sore arm and some malaise.

Thanks Morticia - I've never noticed side effects to vaccines before. Until the 2nd Covid shot so now I expect it. Right now I have a huge red area at the injection sight about the size of a baseball. It's painful if I touch it, so I don't touch it. But it's surprising and I hope it goes away soon.

I weigh in every morning before coffee and you reminded me that I forgot this morning. Oh well, I had cauliflower pizza last night so maybe it was meant to be! Lol Your half grilled cheese with tomato soup is a great combo! I grew up on that! Sorry you couldn’t get comfortable. Glad to hear your fever is gone. Try laying a room temperature bottle of water up against your arm. I do that for shoulder pain. It’s just the right temperature. Hope it all passes soon!:)

Sorry you had that reaction and glad you're getting over it. You know, tomato soup sounds pretty good right now with this cold...🤔

Thanks Navywife - I grew up on grilled cheese and tomato soup too. I hadn't bought tomato soup in about 30 years but now I have it about 3 times a week. I started feeling lousy again yesterday in the afternoon and had a mild fever in the evening. I think I am fine today - hope it lasts. The big red rash is fading on my arm. Thanks writing - I have learned to expect a reaction from the Covid shots. At least I didn't get chills this time. I hate when that happens. Tomato soup is a comfort soup for me. Hope you get over your cold soon.

Thanks, Fritzy 😊 I'm sure I'll be fine in a day or two. As will you!

Writingwyo - hope you are feeling better! I'm fine now. Thanks Sugarplum - I guess we just need to know what to expect when getting any Covid vaccine. I plan for not feeling good the day after the shot.
