The dust has cleared - two weeks in France a couple days home and then 5 days in the city for a Blues Festival. I tried to find a balance between eating well while choosing interesting foods and not going 'crazy' Result? I have gained 4.2 pounds since my last weigh in about a month ago.

Generally I am pleased with the result. When I returned from France I was 9 pounds up, during the two days home I brought that down by 6 pounds and then off to the festival where I came home with a nearly 6 pound gain and then in the few days home I dropped it by 6 pounds again. Like I said - when the dust cleared... Four pounds are do-able. I find that is about one month of work to get that off. So be it!

The French trip was lots of fun with my daughter and my grandchildren. Lots of memories were made and will be treasured for years to come. My granddaughter did well as our interpreter. My grandson understood what was being said however his ability to spontaneously respond needs some work. The difference of 3 years between the kids. My daughter and I honed our skills as stick shift drivers on narrow twisting roads where tailgating is the norm! We saw many and varied sights including spending two days in Spain. Wonderful!!

The Blues Festival was very enjoyable. I traveled with two friends. I danced and danced and danced. That felt so darn good. It has literally been years since I have danced like that -- maybe 2017?

Four pounds for a month of festivities is GREAT! I'm sure that, if it had been ME doing all that traveling, I would have gained ten!

It all sounds fabulous! I have such wonderful memories of my travels. And of festivals. Those pounds will be gone in no time. Turn some music on and dance them away!!!

Definitely stick with the dancing. I do it every evening in my living room. It is my stress relief, an enjoyable cardio way to burn calories, and no equipment or special clothing is required.

Thank you everyone! As for dancing...I dance every morning for 20 minutes. It is a joyful way to begin the day. I meant dancing publicly with a live band - it is the best. And yes it is back at it time. I look forward to eating my usual routine. I am making a turkey vegetable soup today.
