So glad to see that little green arrow! There were so many food bombs to avoid this past weekend...I'm glad I stuck to my food plan. I did the cooking, so I have no one to blame but myself, but family gatherings with multiple birthday celebrations do require some desserts. I made sure there was plenty of healthy alternatives for anyone who wanted to eat healthy, and since this is the first time many of my family have seen me since I started my healthy lifestyle there was a lot of discussion about food and exercise.

At one point during the weekend 4 DIL's and 1 DS all had their phones out and signed up on myfitnesspal.com. Two of the DIL's had already been members of that site and so the others got in on it. Most of them decided to track their food or at least look up nutritional values of meals at restaurants. I told them about this site, but didn't push them to use it. I think the name "fat secret" turned them off, and I can't say I blame them. I don't like the name either. One DIL entered the snacks and drinks she had on Friday night while they played cards "just to see how many calories I consumed" and was horrified to see the number was over 2,000! It was a real eye opener for all of us.

Another thing we talked about during the weekend was exercise. I told them about my exercise bike riding and how I pick a season of a show I like on Amazon Prime and then on only watch it while riding my bike. And how that motivates me to want to ride even more. We also turned on the xBox Kinect to play with the kids and I picked up my three pound dumbbells and used them while playing some of the games. It added some much needed upper body workout to my exercise routine, and it was fun!

Well now almost all of my boys know about my new lifestyle change (one son lives 4 hours away and wasn't able to make it. We'll probably see him in the next month or so and he'll find out then). My extended family don't know yet, and I plan to see them in the next month. I hope the changes are noticeable. Everyone who knows about it so far has been supportive. That is truly a blessing to me.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!
