59Carol's Journal, 12 Feb 22

This is a disappointing weigh in. I gained 0.2 pounds. I averaged at the bottom end of my calorie window all week. I ranged from 70 calories below my range to 30 calories above. I have had two days under my range and one day above the other 4 days in the range. And yet I gained 0.2 pounds! I can't imagine that my calorie accounting is that far off.

I do know that I have been doing a lot of desk work this week and that may be part of the problem because I have noted in the past a correlation between desk work and lack of weight movement.

As it happens today I will need to be fairly vigilant as my eating plan is including some pretty high calorie choices. It is my grandson's birthday and I am choosing to partake in a decadent dessert! We are meeting for supper and board games at my sister's place tonight. Should be fun!

This week has been busy with working on getting some companies bookwork current. Some are 2 years behind in their accounting so it has been an interesting excavating project! I did go to town three days this week. I had an evening meeting for a group I volunteer for, ended up driving my daughter two hours each way to pick up her vehicle and then just a regular town day! Met a friend for lunch which is something I am trying to incorporate in my town days - meeting a variety of friends for lunch!

I find that I retain fluids when I sit with my feet down for long periods of time. Could that be the reason for your weight gain! Whatever, it sounds like what I call a NFR (non-food-related) gain to me, very temporary.

I know the gains have been small but frustrating as I am still 6 pounds above my pre-Christmas weight. I always think those few days of food madness will come off as quickly as they came on - just not so. It is 6 weeks later and still fighting off the effects of 4 days at Christmas! Crazy. Thank you for the encouragement!

There are many things to consider with these small ups & downs including getting enough sleep each night, drinking enough water each day, how many calories you can burn compared to how many you took in...and many more!! Please don't be discouraged...💙✨

CrystalJo- thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I am super good on the water front - I regualarly drink 2 litres of water in addition to my 4 cups of tea! Sleep is sometimes not always as easy as it was when I was younger however of recent past I am doing pretty good on that front. I suspect it may be the daily buring of calories which does vary from day to day. Then there is just plain old body physiology that can flucuate - as long as the overall trajectory over the weeks is going in the direction intended all is good!
