I'm loving listening to the YouTube videos from the Robert Lustig book club based on his book, Metabolic. Very interesting on health, medicine and society. I've ordered the book and looking forward to reading it.

- All food is inherently good, but watch out for what the food industry has done to it.
- Read the 'added sugars' line on the ingredients.
- Avoid products with more than 3 ingredients.
- Eat whole foods; it matters to your health.
- Processed foods interfere with your metabolism.

This may be obvious to many of us! The book goes much deeper into the science.
We need to work toward shifting our unhealthy society toward a healthier approach to food. We're starting with ourselves, of course.

Hmmm did Robert Lustig change. I thought he was all about sugar hate but this sounds like he has broadened his interest. Did you find any help for your cholesterol issues?

Liv, the main thing that raises cholesterol is not dietary fat, but - you guessed it - sugar. I've watched a few YouTube videos about Cholesterol and the doctors are disputing the old (big Pharma backed) Statin-prescribing dogma. Anyway, my good triglycerides and HDL are the important numbers and the high LDL seems to not really matter. And my doctor agreed, so I'm all set for now. It's a common low-carber profile, and not a worry.

I believe that as well. But many people and doctors worry more about it. Glad that you and your doctor have settled on a good solution. Exercise helps with your HDL and makes really good ratios if you can get that in

I walk every day! My dogs jump on me when it's time to go. As I lose weight I can up the activities.
