Hostility at work place has reached new levels. Looking for a labor lawyer now. I can't keep this up any longer. The health issues I'm already fighting doesn't allow me wiggle room to fight off the additional stress.

First it was transportation, got that covered with Dail-A-Ride, then it was the damn handicap rail for the bathroom, now it's finding receipts from last year to justify my expenses. When she and HR person came into my office on Wed with a list of everything I expensed last year, saying she didn't authorize anything. I asked if she was seriously questioning my integrity, she said "Yes! I am questioning your integrity. I don't trust anyone!"

When I provided proof of her authorization on Thursday to the HR person, I said I didn't appreciate being called a liar, and of course she said she didn't hear that! What does she think was meant by my boss questioning my integrity? To me I'm taking it as being called a liar and a thief. Am I wrong under the context it was presented?

So yes it was a very stressful week and now I'm spending the weekend searching for my receipts. I have to present then to HR by Tuesday!!! SERIOUSLY 😳.

Thanks for letting me vent. Hope you all have a safe and Happy Labor Day!

Sound's to me like your boss is determined to get rid of you. Find your attorney, log every meeting and conversation you have with her, including who was present. I would also start looking for another job. It's an employee's market right now and you deserve much better. Good luck! 💜

Sorry you have to deal with all that.

and sounds like the lawyer should be ADA.

That really sucks!

Take notes and hope you're looking for an employment attorney. I'll be blunt, she's setting you up with the HR person there. And make sure the lawyer is well schooled in ADA as well. Talk with the attorney before you let them know about it.

And don’t put it off. You need to do it ASAP.

Totally correct Katsolo.. Make sure you document everything. Date, time, person's name, subject matter/responses and keep copies of all documents. It wouldn't hurt to bring a recording device and let them know you are recording the conversation.

HR is never the employee's friend. It's always on the side of the company, which means your boss. You do need to get an attorney with ADA experience and quickly.

Liz-andra, as a former HR person, I can tell you that I advocated for employees on numerous occasions. I was not on anyone's side, I was on the side of justice.

That's interesting, Shir. I never would've thought that. Jeaniee good luck to you!

This is so unfair! It's not like you developed these health issues on purpose just to irritate your boss. I guess she has never heard of empathy!

Hang in there. This is a difficult time right now for sure. I know you are doing what you can just to stay standing at your office. There is another employer out there that could use your skill set and would be happy to have you on board. Remember that and start searching for a place that is a healthier and happier environment for you. Life is too short.

shirfleur 1, bless you. It's not been my experience with HR people. I'm glad to hear there are some good ones.

Shir, my comments were based on the content of the current and previous posts. There are some good HR folks out there, I'm friends with a few of them.

I'm friends with my HR person, too... But only because I'm in a higher up position and she works for the company. 😆 I'm quite sure she'd work against me if there was a falling out.
