Last night slept 5.7 hrs. Poor nights sleep as drunks/addicts were prowling and howling on the street below my bedroom window, all night long. They were very young, maybe even teenagers...so sad and so infuriating at the same time. This weekend I have been reading everything I can get my hands on about 'Whole Foods Plant Based' (WFPB) eating, including book 'How Not To Diet' by Dr. Greger. His book was referred to me as a 'must read' by one of my Medical Doctors on July 20. I also downloaded the free app 'Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen' to keep track of specific items of food that I should aim to include every day in my food journal. I thought all these years my food choices were pretty good, just the quantity was in excess. But I have discovered that there is a whole lot of ways I can improve. I don't plan on excluding all animal products from my diet, but instead reducing the quantity & frequency of animal based products to 3-5 maximum servings per week, and adding a lot more legumes and whole grains. I plan to choose my 3 servings of animal products very carefully teach week. And save the additional 2 servings of animal products, for unplanned for eating out and family celebrations. There is an immense wealth of free science-based information on his website, always being updated by the newest research. This suits my personality and my science background, as I have a BSc in Plant Science-Pathology. Link to website: https://nutritionfacts.org/ Also on his Facebook page if wonderful, and no fake nutrition news anywhere!!! https://www.facebook.com/NutritionFacts.org This is a plan I have never followed before. Since my first diet at 18, I have had 50 years of following the 'diet trend of the season' and I am 'sick to (almost) death' of the yo-yoing. I am trying very hard to be very optimistic this time, and be open to all the Doctors suggestions.

This is so exciting, DLB! This is also MY exact diet trajectory, too! WFPB with some meat/dairy/eggs :) Using summer to get used to lower fat (hardest macro for me to change) and then fall seems natural transition time to more legumes. Check out Flexitarian sites/Youtube, too, for suggestions! I like the Plant Based News channel on Youtube as well! Let's do this!!!! Wooohoooo :)
