gilliansings's Journal, 16 Feb 14

Finally! Success! After a week of 5 excellent days, followed by 2 days that held more challenges (Valentine's dinner out and a potluck), I am pleased that the scale finally gave me a reward (it only took 15 days, guys!)

In the 15 days, I took 4 brisk walks, did home calisthenics 3 times, and started back on a "Move Free" strength training dvd yesterday. This may not seem like a ton of exercise for those that are able to do Zumba classes and go running, but with my long history of back problems (and spinal impingement, leading to numbness and burning in my leg), this is a WIN!!!

OK, back to your regularly scheduled program :-)

Congratulations on your loss and anytime you are moving more than being sedentary is a help in your journey. You're doing a great job and keep up the good work.

Am very happy for you. If my math is right, even if you only lost 1.5 pounds every 15 days you'd still lose 36 pounds by the end of the year. That is no small achievement!

Thanks, guys (gals, lol)! I polished off my beaming pride in losing my first pound with a brisk 40 minute walk in the rain. It feels so good to be on the right road!
