Fritzy 22's Journal, 13 Feb 21

Weighed myself this morning. Plan was to weigh myself just once a month, but I wanted an idea of how I am doing with my plan. Goal is to lose 5-7 pounds in February and I appear to be on track.

I really like not being obsessed by the scale. In previous attempts (some very successful) I would weigh myself every morning, and often several times during the day and even during the night. Not focusing on the scale makes it easier on me. If I want to have a cup of tea or hot chocolate in the middle of the night (insomnia still) I can do it and not worry about the additional liquid weight when I get up. And I'm okay with what I've lost in 12 or 13 days. When I weighed every day I'd get upset when I didn't see some kind of loss daily.
91.4 kg Lost so far: 0 kg.    Still to go: 18.0 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

I really know what you are talking about. Me too! Last year, I committed to weighing JUST one time (same time) each day. Keep my eye on it and then make changes in everything from my diet to my attitude as needed. I often thought about my weight even then and was obsessed EVERY day by the torturous life I was leading overweight. Now , because of this place and you people, I obsess for a moment at the scale each morning. Then I turn to my life and the people in it. Am grateful today Here is where I am.

Thanks Judyrose - this is the first time I've been able to ignore the scale and stick to my plan. Logging food helps to keep me on track. Usually when I don't weigh daily it's because I don't want to know and I'm gaining! We'll see how long it works. Thanks DP! I am getting tired of having a baked potato as my main meal so will have to figure something else out.
