shirfleur, wow that is exactly how I felt last night and I almost convinced myself to go down to my local grocery and fill up on assorted hors d'oeuvres and champagne but kept putting it off and then when it was dark and the roads where busy I talked myself out of it. I don't like driving at night even without the crazy traffic of New Years eve :-) I figure I would be celebrating alone and my BFF is coming into town next week, so I"ll save my splurge for a movie night with her instead and then maybe I won't overdo as much :-)

Nice splurge. Mine is today with a prune and apple stuffing/dressing in my chicken. I was very good last night, since I am newly back on the straight and narrow. Have so appreciated you this year. Happy new year!

Les, Mardi Grad is many different things depending on where you celebrate in Louisiana. New Orleans is insane and so is the little Cajun town of Mamou. The rest of South Louisiana is only mildly crazy and lots of fun. We believe in joie de vivre, living life with joy.

Sorry, Mardi Gras! Actually, I've only been in New Orleans twice for Mardi Gras, the last time we were there just in time for the Gay Parade, which lived up to any expectations we might have had, hahaha! I LOVE New Orleans, it is like no other place I know, a baudy old lady who says, "Here I am, just as I am" and thumbs her nose at the rest of the world.

I never had my rum instead I had Chinese food , cookies & cake for New Years 😂 We all enjoyed our holiday treats, Now we ring in 2021 with positivity, focus on our goals & continue our path of healthy living. 🍀👍🎉😊
