WHY?!? Have been partially paralyzed since Monday evening! Can't support myself on my right leg, and unless I'm sitting here in the office chair it's just a firestorm from hip to toes. So tired of this!

I blew my New Years goal by overeating at X-mas, unless I can drop 7 lbs by Friday (not likely). This time of year's especially difficult since it's the anniversary's of both my Mom's and older sister's deaths. Trying to stay positive and focusing on getting thru the rest of this week and weekend.

So sorry you're struggling at this time of year. Don't give up on your goal. Maybe you just need to extend your deadline from the 1st to the 7th or 10th. It's doable with just a bit more time, and you can still count it as a victory!

It's hard during the holidays when we miss our loved ones. If I were you though I wouldn't try to play catch up. Don't beat yourself up. Set a new small attainable goal and look ahead. It's OK to set a tentative time frame to get a rough framework of something to work toward but if you try to sacrifice to make up for the past you put too much pressure on it and may give up. I have a long term goal and a goal to lose 4 to 5lbs per month. But my body doesn't always lose on my schedule even when I do everything right. For three weeks I didn't lose much of anything, then all of a sudden I kept losing. Even though I've set those timeframes, I try not to focus on that. I only focus on losing the next pound or two and consider each loss a success. Having patience and faith that its going to come off because I'm consistent has been my biggest non scale victory. I'm finding that I'm changing my mind set to a sustainable life style change whereas before I tried so hard to lose for an event and gave up because I was trying to unrealistically sacrifice to hit a target.

Did you check with your doctor? This doesn’t sound good.

If your dearest friend said to you what you just said here, how would you respond? We have so much kindness for others while we beat ourselves up. Please be kind to yourself. That said, numbness in your extremities is never a good sign. I don't know if you have any pre-existing health issues that explain this, but if not, this is something to be concerned about. Don't ignore your body. It's screaming out to tell you something. Take care you.

Marking the passing of time in your life by marking the death or anniversary of all the sad things in your life makes you dread those days as they approach. Try turning the scenario around and mark the days on your calendar of things that brought you fun and joy in your life. If my kids were to spend their life marking every rear of my death I will come back to haunt them— or retract their inheritances.
