Thanks! A little more tender today. Drove the youngest to school to help with AR testing and take snacks to the class. Another mom came too so we knocked it out quickly even though it was the entire class instead of just half like usual. We aren’t supposed to read to the kids who didn’t have a book read to them. The teacher had to step out for a quick 15 minute meeting so I read to two boys and helped them test after everyone else was done testing. Worked out perfectly lol. Driving there wasn’t an issue nor was bending over or squatting down to help the kiddos.

I tend to have a lot of energy after most surgeries. I slept a solid 5 hours last night so I felt ready for this morning. Been getting 3 hrs and a nap. I’ll take a nap later too. I’m restricted from pretty much everything right now except laying down, sitting down, etc lol. I’ll take it easy today, help the kids with virtual school tomorrow then probably sleep the entire weekend. Hubby’s going fishing so I’ll have to cook and things but the kids can do their own thing. May pay the teenager to do some cleaning and laundry lol. She’s saving up for basketball shoes so I’m sure she would like the money and I wouldn’t have to do it ;).

Carol I’m here if there’s anything I can help with! My teenager has to buy her own sports and school items. She had a job working for a neighbor but that’s on hold right now with covid. Hubby ‘hires’ her to help on the farm and when she needs extra money I’ll pay her to do some cleaning or cooking for me. I believe it teaches responsibility and hard work that she has to work and pay for her own things. It’s still mostly out money that pays for her stuff but she doesn’t just get handed the money. She values the stuff she has more because she has to work for it. We went from buying her clothes and shoes every few months to her buying them 1-2 times a year and keeping them nice. We buy all the necessities like hygiene stuff and undergarments mostly unless she insists on Nike bras. She wants the expensive stuff she has to work for it just like all of us do in the ‘real world’. I think it makes them better prepared for adulthood. We do the same for my 11 year old. The 6 year old is learning the lessons but I still buy almost everything for her. I just give her a budget and she has to stick to it. It’s nice to see kids realize they can buy a weeks pack of underwear for $10 rather than the cutesy ones for $5 each and then have cash left to buy another shirt or a treat on the way home.

Peeper, I can't belive that you were doing anything but resting in bed after that horrific day yesterday. I hope your pain hasn't increased too much. Don't push yourself. I don't have much understanding of what you are going through, but you are so strong and such an example for your kids. God bless. Praying for you!

Thanks guys! Melissa I find that when I can’t do much I want to do everything lol. After surgeries is usually when things come up like picking up calves last night. We were going to do that next week but hubby called the guy last night to get them instead so we had to go get a feeder, feed etc and him and the oldest went and got the calves. Just things like that every surgery that I want to help with and am limited on what I can do/help with. I also like to see exactly what I’m capable of and after surgery is a good time to test my left arm strength and is my core strong enough to allow for use of just one side while not using the other at all sort of stuff. Normally I’m already having to break restrictions but this time there’s no need so far. My dr would be telling me I can do a bit more left handed as long as I’m not using my right for any reaching, pulling, pushing or lifting right now. He would also tell me again how unlikely it is that my weak side could do much without my stronger side lol. But yeah, I’m taking it fairly easy.
