That’s a great attitude! Great going!! 💪🏻 I had to reduce carbs and fats when I doubled my protein, totally restructuring my diet. By the way, another user told me that our bodies can only absorb about 30 g of protein per sitting. I had no idea and was sometimes eating 50 g in a single meal. He let me know that some of the excess protein may get stored as fat while the rest comes out. Just a heads up in case you didn’t know. 😊

Yeah, newname, sorry to tell you but the 30g is a common myth of old. It depends on what kind of "carrier" the protein comes in. For example, my current understanding is that liquid (milk, whey protein shakes in water...) goes through your stomach so fast, your body can only digest about 10g from such form. That's why I have lowered the amount of protein I take in liquid form at once but instead have a bit several times a day. Now something like chicken is going to get digested way slower and thus won't have the same time constraints as the liquid would. I'm sure D would have more facts on all that I just said... But basically I used to waste lot of protein powder and get plenty bloated for no benefit... Other than feeling full all the time. 😁

Wooow, seriously? It’s all so confusing! What is your best source for most up to date science-based info? Besides Diablo who is busy on vacation now lol

What I seem to have an issue with is the rampant fats. I can do easy 250g carbs, but what's killing my calorie numbers are the 100+ grams of fat day after day, they just sneak up on me 🤣 and our bodies are super happy at carb+fat, it's the optimum mix for fast fat storage.

I hear you! Fats can so easily add up. I don’t even have as much avocado and olive oil anymore to save my calories. I’ve been prioritizing protein and produce and saving my fats and carbs for when they’re really worth it.

Diablo posted some studies months ago. And before he did I had to search them myself. One of the main things one has to learn is not to trust the government even with nutrition. Someone guessed something in the 70s and that's the bible of nutrition to this day. That's why they recommend things like 40g or protein per day for female and 50g for male. So stay clear of government sites 🤭

Just a kind caution new name, everyone here has their own ‘facts.’ Trying to get truth is very controversial and can be confusing cause all kinds of science and articles are out there. You’ll be chasing a train and will get exhausted very quickly. Just eat well and move girl. It all falls in place. xo

Thanks, dude! 🙌🏻 Yeah, I usually ignore gov’t recommendations because they seem pretty outdated and may or may not be funded by shady companies anyway. I’m going to go peep Diablo’s journal now and will hopefully find those studies you mentioned. It’s been a learning process for me for sure. I see lots of research in my future.

Yes wifey, absolutely. The stress free way is not to worry too much... Or eat too much. 😁
