Havent felt like I lost weight, just feel my skin is looser - weird I know. Happy to see that I have lost some weight in 4 weeks, but my goal is to eat cleaner and eliminate the sugar monster in my life. I have reduced the amount of insulin I take by 3/4, I only take 1/4 as much as I used to need to not have my diabetes controlled. I am very excited about that!

That's an amazing drop! What an incredible start! It will take a while before you start feeling like you've made any headway. People around me started noticing before I could see a difference. I just kept my focus on eating healthy (reducing/eliminating refined carbs like flour and sugar) to keep my blood pressure and glucose under control. The weight loss has just been an amazing side-effect.

Keep in mind that when you have a lot to loose you may need to loose 50+ pounds before other people really notice. The I,portmanteaus thing is that YOU know and the rest of the world will follow with things like— what’s different? Did you get your hair cut or change the color— they know something is different but might take a little while before they actually get it. Keep your own counsel. Let the world be surprised.

Awesome how cutting the refined carbs and sugar can make such a difference. I am actually on the same insulin dosage 1/4 of what I used to take as well and it is so much better HBA1c also dropped to 5 from 10.2. Just keep up the good eating and all fall into place. Nice thing is, once your body is used to the "clean" eating, its stops craving the chocolate, biscuits, muffins etc........

Ha ha, looser skin. I just said on my post today my husband just noticed I have lost weight. He didn't notice it when seeing me naked. Frankly I don't see it much in the mirror naked, just flabby skin. Only when I put on tighter pants can I see it, and I do see my big stomach isn't quite as big.

I understand. I feel the same way! I lie in bed and feel my stomach and hips and things just feel looser and smaller. :)

Conicassity, that's been my attitude. My mom keeps asking me if I'm still on a diet and how much have I lost/do I want to lose, etc. I tell her I'm still eating healthy, yes, and I feel so so much better mentally and physically. The weight loss is just a added benefit/perk. I'm trying not to be concerned with how much or how fast I lose. I'm just making sure each day (well, almost every day), I stay well below my maintenance calorie amount and eat healthy foods.

A decrease in the amount of simple carbs and a plan for some physical activity a couple hours after eating meals with carbs allows the body to use the immediately available sugars for fuel rather than storing them. Decreased spikes and less insulin required. If you are a continual snacker of simple carbs, well, I don’t know what to say. About that..
