Hi Regina. Make sure you get enough protein for you needs for your activity and age. You want to keep your metabolism going for a long time. Better to do this slowly that ending up in a loop of crash dieting. Good luck!!!!!

Just remember to get the nutrients that you need. At 16 you need good nutrition. Your body is still changing and developing.

Hi Regina. Welcome to the group. Sounds like you are not overweight for your height- why do you feel you need to lose weight ? Sixteen can be a tough age in terms of still growing and changing and sometimes dieting at this age can lead to excess weight down the road. Might be smart to consult a nutritionist if at all possible or someone you trust who is knowledgeable in this area and see if you should be trying to lose 20 pounds like you think you do , or get more fit, or perhaps something else. Either way are here for you. :)

Hi Regina, I just wanted to echo some of the advice the group had already mentioned. I would love for you to consult a professional to help you with your health goals. You sound like a healthy weight maybe your focus could be on getting fit, stronger or more tone?? I am the same height as you and would have been a similar weight when I was 16. I am now in my 30's and have spent years on and off different diets. It is not the healthiest path to take. I know you can do anything you set your mind to but I'm hoping you choose good health over a certain number on the scale.
