A little bit down again. Not sure how much I trust it. My weight seems to do crazy things and has for years. For example, this morning I got up at 5:30 to take my pills weighed myself. Then went to bed. Slept 2 hours had my morning constitutional and I gained a pound from 5:30???? Or another example. I will get up and weigh myself. 10 min later after I have been moving around the house I will use the washroom and then weigh myself. I will have gained in that 10 min! Craziness. I end up telling myself not to worry about the microcosm but to focus on the big picture -- I am trending downwards and that is good. The scale will just have to reflect that eventually!

Feel your confusion! My body and scale do the same thing! Slowly beginning not to buy into it! That’s hard though! 🍁🍁🍁

Find one time of day to weigh, then step away from the scale! No going crazy! 😵

if you want a consistent trend to map use your scale at the same time and only once a day. I always weigh first thing in the morning- like immediately after I wake up and pee lol. then track your weight from there and youll have the best idea of your progress

The scale lies. GOOGLE an article titled, "Why the Scale Lies" and it will help you to better understand the fluctuatiions

I wouldn’t weigh everyday. Weigh once a week

Besides bodyweight fluctuations, scales are imperfect. That's why home use scales say "Not suitable for trade"; they have especially wide variations, and even trade use scales aren't perfect.

Sounds like a wonky scale to me. Maybe something is stuck under it?

Thank all of you for your ideas. I do know that there is something to only weighing once a week. I have done that in the past but the scale seems to keep me honest. However, I have been very honest with my logging so maybe I can trust myself to not weigh in the morning? I do weigh first thing in the morning. However when you have to use the washroom 10 min or so later it feels like it is 'okay' to weigh again and expect a loss. Doesn't usually work for me -- don't know why I keep thinking it will! Maybe I will suck it up and not weigh until Sunday which is my 'official' weigh in day for myself. Thanks for the ideas.

I weigh daily, but only post it here weekly. I used to post whenever I saw a drop. But I like seeing the weekly progress here on FS but daily on my own spreadsheet. And weighing more after going to the bathroom happens to me occasionally - but 10 minutes later, it'll show a drop from the pre-bathroom weight. So, I just wait a bit before weighing. Actually, I have sort of a routine of multiple weighings and betting with myself what the final result - which is taken at about 8am, after walk and shower but before coffee.

I also have a routine but history has shown that my weight will sometimes just be illogical. This is not a new thing. I have seen this for literally years so I can't blame the scale. I do the three quick weights to make sure the number is the same 3 times and then use that. The funny part is that my weight does in fact fluctuate up to 2 pounds inside of 15 min. Knowing that, I usually just weigh when I wake up, and then drop it. But every once in while I get sucked into the second weighing mostly on days when I think the scale should have moved downwards but it didn't. I am going to try the not weighing until Sunday and see if that keeps me from living and dying over the day to day fluctuations.

My scale does that too. So my method is to move it and reweigh so that I get three equal results. That is then what I logg. For me weighing nearly daily is a good motivator. If my weight inches upwards or even stalls I step up my regime. Best of luck!
