Yes you can.

You just haven't found the right fit for you yet. You will. This isn't an all or nothing endeavor. This is a chipping away slowly and taking it day by day process. Every choice you make is an opportunity to make a healthy one. If you miss a couple, you just dust yourself off and try again. Best of luck!

It’s a mind game, make up your mind that you can do it 😀

Are you trying different foods or different life plan? Maybe you have to start with what you CAN do, like eat your same foods, but in smaller portions. Or only before 6:00. That's what got me started. Taking on a whole new lifestyle all at once never worked for me. Substitute foods, like shakes, etc. also don't work for me and my brain. Lessening some of my food and making myself take a walk around the block or clean something before I ate anything resulted in building some good habits (and my house got a little cleaner!). Once I saw a little weight come off it was a little easier to modify some of food choices: I had already gone from a whole bagel to half a bagel. Modifying further I switched to a lower cal bread (Dave's Killer Seed Bread) + added a couple of slices of low fat lunch meat to fill me up more. Yes to cream cheese -- but whipped, not regular. I don't like "lite" foods, but did switch to diet soda before discovering a good tea that I can drink without sugar. Baby steps!!! It has worked for me. I started at 185 6 years ago and yo-yo'd my way to 171, which is where I started here. Today I weighed in at 155. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

With experimentation you can find what will work for you without you feeling deprived and unable to stick with it - good luck

TODAY IS A NEW DAY! Every meal is a chance to start over

I did the same thing SoCalPal did. Ate my normal stuff only smaller amounts. Put everything I ate in the journal on public so I was accountable. Worked very well for me. Now I find myself doing portion control without thinking about it. Also find myself looking for healthier options automatically. We all did probably a dozen diets before we find what works for each of us. Be honest with yourself. Like for me I love carbs, so keto would be horrible for me. I tried atkins, but again I love carbs. But if I do portion control I can have carbs, and I don't find myself cheating on my diet later. also never bring extra food into the room where u are eating. Get a small portion put it in a small bowl or whatever, put it away, walk into another room sit down eat it slowly.. It works for me. Also I set up times I'm allowed to eat, say my lunch is at 1pm. I don't eat nothing until then. Just try little tricks like that. Its all a mind game really. I don't succeed everyday, especially when that dreaded creme horn comes into play, but it does make me want to try harder. Don't get discouraged you can do this! Just experiment and find what is right for you.

try fasting, if you have no control, maybe learning to not eat for a short fast on a regular basis will help you learn control. You have to find what you are comfortable with.

Eat the food you love counting your calories

You need to take little little little baby steps. You need to get a little success under the belt, so to speak. Ask yourself if you really need to eat that portion. Remember the difference in wants and needs....... You got this...

^ What Tweetledee said. I have specific times that I eat during the week (8:00, 10:00, noonish, 3:00, and 6:30). I don't make myself crazy about it, but it prevents me from eating out of boredom. If I feel "hungry", I look at the clock and tell myself I can eat in an hour (or whatever), then find something to DO. I frequently forget that "hunger" because my mind got busy doing something else. I eat at those times anyway to keep my blood sugar level so I don't dip and dive into a bag of potato chips. (Who, me???)

try glue (joke) but in all seriousness just focus on whatever you want to do, and remember breaking your diet once doesn't mean everything is ruined and everything must die, just take a deep breath and keep going
