Is there a secret to weight loss? Fat grafting surgery for final stages of reconstruction. Was 136 after my 3rd child and stayed 132-136 for 2 1/2 years maintaining, eating as I liked and only daily exercise. 3 kids, live in a farm, carry feed, take care of animals, clean house, garden etc but no real working out.

Aug 2013 107
Jan 2014 112
July 2014. 132(had baby)
5/26/16-3/27/17 hysterectomy, mastectomy, chemo 144 midway
Summer 2017. 150
3/6/17. 160

From 5/26/16 to May 2017 I was on restrictions and limited to walking only. 5-10 pounds lifting weight and no working out. Diet was anything I could keep down with as much fat, carbs and protein that I could eat to make sure I stayed healthy through surgeries and chemo. Now need to lose it and get back to 122 where I felt the best. 112 I felt ok. 107 I felt tired. 130 and up and I feel sluggish.

Currently eating about 1100-1350 calories per day. Burning 200-400 calories a day at the gym with treadmill and bikes. I was dieting for two weeks previously and started this app this week. I’m up 0.2 pounds in a a few days! My starting weight was from the dr office 3/5/18 so I’ll start this weekend with a new weight using my new scale and will use it each week.

Glad you made it through the surgery. I pray all will remain well, and that you achieve the goals you establish for yourself. Sounds like your a fighter. Throw down.

Because you have had some significant medical issues, my personal recommendation would be to plan slow and steady and maybe use the guidelines of the American Diabetic Association as a helpful tool. This may not be the time for you to participate in diets that can compromise your well being. I realize that you aren’t diabetic, but their guidelines are solid in my opinion.

I'm doing low carb and meal tracking thru FS . I am keeping to 30 grms carbs high protein and no calorie counting. So far so good.

I am on the same general track as you. My plan is to hit a deficit each, based on what Fitbit says is burned compared to what fatsecret log says. Slow and steady, mostly whole and organic. I try to take in at least 75 grams of protein every day. For me, the most efficient way is to exercise every day and watch what I eat plus weight lifting twice a week.

Does it really matter on carbs healthy fat and protein? I don’t count those at all but I seem to be close to the percentages FS wants me at. I’m a very picky eater. I tend to get sick even smelling fish or mushrooms(canned variety but still dislike fresh). I’m a farm girl so used to live on pork, beef, a little chicken, lots of potatoes and eggs. Some fresh and canned veggies but before kids I’d only eat veggies at holidays. I’m now eating bell peppers, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower as those seem to be the fresh ones I like and don’t turn my stomach. During chemo I basically lived on applesauce and fruit cups, mainly peaches, I miss those lol. But I still gained weight eating 2 of each a day and maybe a plate of cheese and crackers if I felt up to those.

And thanks for the fighter comments! Cancer wasn’t in my plans and I dislike things disrupting my plans lol. It took the stress of losing my dad and Mom less than 2 years apart to have me pacing enough to drop the baby weight of two kids (about 25#). Now I have to lose 24 lbs chemo weight and 16 lbs baby weight! And they’d like surgery next week or by end of summer and me to be at my ‘forever’ weight. I’d be happy at 130 but prefer 120 for the cushion of a bit of water weight. 122-125 is where I feel my best with the most energy.

My oncologist said anything is fine. I’ve spent 4 months playing ball with my kids (3,9,12) off an on about an hour a week. I’ve worked up to 40 min on the treadmill at 4-5 incline at 2.6(instead of a break) to 3.6 mph. I cut out up to 1k cal daily(1200 now,was 2000-2500) starting slowly 2 weeks ago. My plastic surgeon says go slow until summer than have at it lol. But he also wants far grafting now :/. I’m healthy now other than the weight. A slight vit D deficiency within the normal range but onc says for me it needs to be higher than what is normal. I’ve finally worked my shoulders back to where I have almost full range of motion. Weight training isbout but I have snuck a couple of machines in:). A few reps at lowest setting. Thanks everyone for your comments!

I also have to lose chemo weight and would like to get to 120 for starters. I don’t know if it’s my lifestyle or the pills I have to take that make me tired. I cut down on my carbs and found a lot more energy.

That’s good! I have the most energy after a decent sized meal with beef. Or after a coke and candy bar lol. But I can’t have that or what I consider a decent sized meal. I feel half full and half empty all the time. Similar to eating chicken noodle soup constantly. Not full but not hungry. I was told the steroids make us gain weight. Most of mine was because they had me on restriction for like 14 months. Walking was all I was allowed during winter. Only so much walking I can do in my house! Good luck on the weight loss! It’s a challenge but I find even a tiny decrease like .6 in the last two days is helpful as to me wanting to keep going :).
