abbadabba's Journal, 04 Jan 10

Happy New year! My New Year's eve was fun - my friends and I got together, watched the ball drop, had a grand time! I ate a lot over the weekend, but I am planning on eating less - my daughters want to get back to a routine of family dinners, now that their exciting holiday party time is all over. My younger one even said she would cook - yeah!

Thursday there was snow, Friday was snowy and quiet, Saturday was snowing and then Sunday was snowing too - all told, a foot of snow. Lots of slippery driving but we got around and the snow never got too bad to drive in. With my new car, I figured out that it is a danger to be driving a new car in the snow! I am a bad snow driver though, so maybe it's me.

I am working on lowering my daily average to 1100 calories a day - this will mean some low days, but if I get my veggie quotient up, I should be on track downward in no time.

Good luck everyone! Hope you all are still sticking to your resolutions!

Happy New Years to you too! Lots of snow and cold weather here too. Sounds like you've got a plan. I am going to work on a plan today too. Have a great Tuesday!

How great that your little one wants to cook. I imagine that at first this will be more time-intensive for you but eventually you can pass some of the cooking off to her. That's great! I'm already giving my 21 month old son little jobs in the kitchen (pulling the caps off mushrooms) and I'm looking forward to the day when I can snap my fingers and have him whip up some dinner. LOL. Totally joking. Or, mostly joking.

lol, Beets_yum! My "little one" is 17 - I do snap my fingers and whip up dinner, and sometimes she'll even run out for pizza instead of cooking when it's her turn and her sister (19 years old, in college) will drive her. Your day will come!

LOL. Abba, children are a blessing for sure in so many ways. How do you like weight lifting? Are you following a specific program? That's something that I do sporadically but haven't gotten hooked on yet!! Lately my Jillian Michaels DVD has been calling out to me . . .

Hey! I have been missing you lately! I remember that you count calories - a good habit that I have never acquired. Not much to say - just wanted to say hello! Keep the faith!
