I had a Great day strawberry picking with my 90 year old mother. She held onto her walker while she bent down and picked 5 baskets! Here's to mothers everywhere. We then put up and froze strawberries for the winter, made jam and a wonderful strawberry pie ( of which I didn't have any boohoo.). Oh well, I did have my fill of fresh organic wonderful juicy strawberries.

I've been fixating on food these last few days. I feel hungry much of the time as I transition once again into a low carb diet. I think this feeling will pass as I flush my system of all those carbs. I checked out LCHF on the dietdoctor.com website and was surprised at how low in importance exercise was considered in the weight loss plan. But otherwise there was a lot of good advice. I'm hoping to dip below the 170 lb mark this week while trying to stay on the LCHF plan. Those of you with more knowledge in this area, what is a good target for carbs? I've read in one place that between 20g and 25g is good but other places say <50 g is ok. Does it matter? Anyway, have a great week everyone and for all my wonderful neighbours to the south....HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY

I try to stay under 20g of carbs. If you are hungry, add more fat and reduce something else. Protein and Fat are both satiating, but fat doesn't raise your insulin like protein. I was told that losing weight is all about the kitchen and they are right. The exercise component is for your health, not your weight. You will find the right approach for yourself. The one thing I love about LCHF is that I am NEVER hungry. My cravings have hit maybe 3-4 times in 4 months - keep them under control with a high fat snack like peanut butter or cream cheese. Good luck.

for me anything over 20 gms net carbs slows down my fat loss.

Thanks for that Bit of advice. That helps. It makes sense too about the exercise. Adding exercise doesn't help with weight loss as much as does finding the right food plan...both are important but I like what you said...loosing weight is about the kitchen, exercising is for your health. I love that! You should use that as your signature statement.
