Fritzy 22's Journal, 19 Apr 24

I am hating having my house up for sale! It was listed on Sunday and I left for Oregon the same day. Was hoping to get an offer (full price and all cash!) by the time i got home. That didn't happen. Bobby stayed at my sister's house and the cats stayed at home with the pet sitter coming in twice a day to feed them, scoop the litter box, give Marco his insulin shots and then clean the food plates. She even agreed to use the Bona mop to pick up cat hair, litter, etc. She texted me that one of the cats seemed stressed out and wasn't eating. The next day he was better and she sent me a picture of him eating. I've been home for one day and don't know how to deal with this. I spent about 2 hours this morning getting the house ready to show - scooping litter boxes, mopping the floors, putting all the blinds up or open so the house is light and bright, putting a quilt and pillow shams on the bed, drying the whole shower after using it, etc. I don't want to cook because the stove is so hard to clean. I was hungry around noon so looked at the menu at a pizza place close to home. Lots of good stuff to choose from, sandwiches, spaghetti, etc. I finally just made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I did some weed whacking and then used the leaf blower on the garage floor just to keep a little busy. My realtor told me about 20 agents came through on the broker tour and there have been about 7 showings. Can't believe the 7 people didn't fall in love with the house! Hopefully it will get shown over the weekend but I am not enjoying the process at all. It wouldn't be too bad if I didn't have Bobby. I could just go somewhere for the day like the casino, Winco, meet friends for breakfast or lunch. But he has to go with me which is hard for several hours a day.

Hope it sells faster than this. I’ll pray it does. ❤️🙏🏻

I sympathize that it's harder with pets. I hope it sells quickly! The last house we sold was 28 years ago in Dallas. Tx. We did have 2 dogs. I think we crated them. Hubby & I both worked so we were away from the house. What I remember was our first offer was a lady that nitpicked all kinds of things about the house. We ended up walking away from her & the next offer closed. We had some pressure from selling relieved because it was a company transfer for Hubby. If we hadn't sold in a certain amount of time the company would have picked up the house.

Selling houses is a pain. Especially if you are living in them. I have sold a few but not while living in them.

Here in my area some people don’t even come look at the house, they just send someone over with a suitcase full of cash. I’m not interested in selling but it doesn’t keep agents from coming by offering unreal amounts of money. I don’t have a house payment and no place I would really rather live than where I am.

Funny thing down here, I keep getting sent “checks”, made out to my father, who died over 6 years ago, for the sale of MY HOUSE, at extremely low value. May they rot in Hell trying to scam people.

I know this is hard. I can't imagine selling, although I do fantasize about it! We just have to much stuff. Anyway, the issue with pets is hard as well. Try to remember it's temporary, but that probably doesn't help in the moment...sorry it's been so frustrating...💜💜💜

Thanks SherryeB, it would be easier if I was working but Bobby has never been in a,crate. I'll probably have to see if my sister is willing to keep him for a couple hours at times

Thanks Morticia! I've sold 2 homes previously but wasn't living in them. My last home sold the first weekend on the market with 3 offers. So far, nothing here. Tomorrow will be one week. I have to learn to be patient.

Thanks Kenna! Nothing like that is happening here although some homes are selling fast. It's a real problem getting insurance here.

Thanks Diana, I've been wanting to sell for about 3 years so am finally trying. This is the best time as far as how the house and yard look. Yellow irises just popped out all over the bank in the front of the house. Should be seeing some purple ones soon. The toughest thing is knowing if anyone is going to want to look at it. I may ask my agent not to show it after 5 or 6pm without lots of notice so I know when I can starting unwinding for the day. No one has seen it today and I would expect that the weekend would be the busiest time.

Fritz, were you able to look at new home possibilities while you were in Oregon?

If your cat has the diabetes then look into a carnvore diet (all meat diet) this will reverse the diabetes. you tube channel and shawn baker md podcast has vids on pets eating carnivore diet.

everything is selling here so quickly. I bet you'll get an offer very soon. if I lived closer, I'd help. 💕

Redrose54 - I looked at homes in Oregon. There is a new house I want to make an offer on in spite of a tiny lot - talk about zero lot lines! There is a door from the master bedroom to the back of the house - just a tiny 2 foot concrete "patio" and the fence. But it's enough for the dog and the front porch is a little bigger. I also saw an older house I like alot, but worry i would end up like I am now, in a house with so many upgrades I want to do but can't afford.

Thanks Jjbbee - I'm just following my vet's advice on what to feed my cat and it's been working.

Thanks DP! I'm hoping for an offer but it all depends on the pricing. I listed with an agent who tends to be conservative with pricing so we'll see what happens. Things are selling fast so maybe I shouldn't be anxious YET.
