Back still is in severe pain. Not a bit better. Going to take the advice given here yesterday, and start alternating heat and cold (or just switch to cold). I can take cold gel packs to church, whereas I wouldn’t be able to take a heating pad. Please, Lord, I need this to get better!

Heat and cold works best for me. Get well soon!

Just woke up to go to the bathroom and my back is feeling a LITTLE better - not at all resolved yet, but a little less pain than it has been. Thanks for the good wishes and prayers! I’ve got ice on it right now, and will alternate with heat on it before I go back to bed. Didn’t do ANY walking today or yesterday. I WANTED to walk, but I want more for my back to get better. Back under 1,800 calories today - just 1,600-something. I’ve started drinking all these protein shakes I bought before my surgery last July. Want my protein to be up so I can donate plasma. Didn’t drink ANY water yesterday or today, though. Gotta get back to that, as well.

Don’t forget ibuprofen! Feel better

If you have inflammation, ice will reduce the swelling. Use ibuprofen. I have had 3 spinal surgies. This works the best for me.
