Fritzy 22's Journal, 25 Jan 24

My stomach is upset today. Not sure if it was because of obsessing about my knee MRI or because of the salad I had yesterday. I swear my body doesn't like raw vegetables but handles cooked veggies okay. Had dry toast and coffee earlier. Don't plan on eating much. I put 5 saltines in my food log in case I need them later. But I know how easily 5 saltines can turn into 20. So for now it's Gaviscon tablets and warm milk later.

Do you get upset stomach eating all kinds of fibres or is it mainly raw veggies?

Thanks Liv! It's not fiber. I can eat blackberries and blueberries with no issues. I cooked onions and mushrooms a few days ago to add to scrambled eggs with no problem. I think since ratings salads 2 or 3 days a week is new for me I sometimes have issues. It's a new thing and hopefully will go away.

Thanks Benita and T3r3sa7, I'll be fine. I know it's something I'm eating, possibly the salads, but now I'm thinking it might be the diet Pepsi I usually don't drink but I have had a can a day for about a week.

Nothing wrong with cooked veggies. I've read that some vegetables, like carrots, are actually more nutritious when cooked. Hope you get to feeling better!

Carbonation can eat away at stomach lining so since I'm not used to it, I'll usually get a stomach ache when I have it and I rarely get stomach issues. So hopefully it's that instead of your salads.

Are you drinking coffee first thing in the morning after not eating all night with no breakfast ? Coffee is acidic and can cause havoc.

Thanks T3, I am thinking it's the sodas. Not having any today. But I know sometimes raw vegetables will bother me. But now that I make a wonderful Asian chicken salad I don't want to give it up!

Thanks Happycat! I keep a couple cans of Progresso chicken noodle soup for days like yesterday! But had crackers instead

Thanks Honeebuns, I don't drink coffee every day but I always have it soon after waking and then maybe have a slice of toast or something else to eat. It rarely causes problems. Yesterday I woke up with the stomach issue. I think I did have dry toast with the coffee though, worrying the coffee could make things worse. I'm mine this morning, drinking coffee on an empty stomach.

Zoofeather, I have some frozen vegetables, mostly starchy though like corn and peas. Not crazy about other frozen veggies
