Fritzy 22's Journal, 01 Dec 23

Yesterday I took Bobby for a quick walk, maybe 15-20 minutes on a different section of the neighborhood trail. Then stopped at my sister's house where Bobby was so excited. I swear he likes her more than me. Her tiny little 5 pound shih tzu tried so hard to get him to play with her. I showed my sister and brother in law my knee. He had knee replacement surgery a year or two. When I showed them my knee there was a puffy area that appeared to be filled with fluid. It hasn't been swollen before. My BIL said he used to have to go in to get the fluid drained. Left their house and before going home I walked Bobby again on the trail loop we had been doing this week. So more walking yesterday. The knee is no longer swollen and There is no area that appears to have fluid.

I didn't eat any pistachios yesterday! I'm so happy I was able to resist. I have no idea of what I am going to eat today, but I want to get out of the habit of fasting a day or two before posting my weight on Sundays. In my little neighborhood grocery store parking lot the trailer has been set up selling See's candy. My big goal this holiday is to NOT get any of their peanut brittle because I can easily eat boxes of it.

Thanks Honeebuns! I had to walk past the trailer this morning when I went to the grocery store. It was hard to resist but I did! But it will be there for the next few weeks

I sure hope your knee keeps getting better! I'm glad you were able to stay away from the pistachios. I have been doing good today. I even made sugar cookies and didn't even try one! Need to do good next couple of days.. Have a great weekend Fritz!🩷

Diana, great job not eating a cookie after baking them! I doubt I could do that. My knee is actually swollen again and there is an area that is puffy with fluid. I was feeling sorry for myself today and thought I might as well eat the pistachios so I went and got the rest of the bag from the refrigerator in the garage. I poured about 2 cups into a bowl but after I started to eat them I thought I really didn't want to eat them all - there lots left. So I poured everything into a freezer bag and took back down to the garage. I counted what I had eaten, 56 nuts and logged them and had to adjust what I planned on eating for the rest of today. Still feeling sorry for myself and don't understand the knee swelling all of a sudden

Fritzy, your knee sure is being pesky! Wonder what's up with the fluid and swelling. Better call Dr. I understand the temptation of eating those nuts..I almost gave in but decided not to. Tomorrow is a new day.🩷

Thanks Diana, the knee problems just keep evolving! I have an appointment with my doctor next week. I have had a bad day with cravings and my will power isn't strong. Tomorrow is another day, but instill need to make it through tonight!

This is a little out there, but have you been tested for gout? Something to ask your doctor about. It could also be bursitis if there’s fluid involved. You do need to take it easy.

And I am neither a doctor nor a medical professional, so that’s all I know about it. 🙃

Thanks Katso!o. Gout has come up in some of my online searching. But symptoms include severe pain and redness. I Don't have either. The pain is a constant aching pain. I think my doctor may have mentioned bursitis. I am making a list of things to ask my doctor.

Yup, I freely admit having no real knowledge in this subject area. At least I’m honest about it. 🤪

Kat, I think I read that another symptom is "crankiness" and I have been a crouch for a couple of weeks! Thanks for thinking of me
