Fritzy 22's Journal, 29 Sep 23

Had a nice day yesterday. Left at 8am for an appointment with my hair stylist and lunch with a friend after that. Took 1 1/2 hours to get to WinCo where I usually shop before hair appointments. I felt pleased with myself that I was able to resist so many foods that would totally take me off my WOE for about a week. Resisted the Doritos and other chips that were under $3. Same with Ritz crackers. Didn't buy any Pepsi or other soda. It's so much cheaper there, but I didn't even look at it. Still managed to spend $200.

Went and got my hair cut and colored and visited with the stylist. I've been going to her since 1998, before she had her daughter who now is in medical school.

Met my friend for lunch at Red Robin and spent nearly 2 hours there. She gave me some ideas for my move, because I am to have a hard time imagining concurrent closings on the house I am buying and the house I am selling. And showing the house while there are 3 cats and litter boxes. I did order the whiskey river barbecue burger and steak fries. But no Coke and I asked for the burger to be wrapped in lettuce. I don't feel like I blew my diet for the day even though there were more calories in the meal than I allow myself for the whole day. But I didn't feel bad about it. I didn't eat the onion straws that are on top of the burger and it was a small order of fries. RR has endless fries available and they don't give you a huge amount to start with. I didn't ask for more. So I did OMAD yesterday although I was getting hungry around 7 last night. Oh! I didn't get home until 3pm, Bobby was fine but ready to go outside for a minute. I was really tired by the time I unpacked all the groceries. Managed over 10,000 steps for the day. Just wanted lay down for a half hour because my back was aching. First I had to get a broken hinge with screws to my neighbor who is going to fix a piece of furniture, hopefully so I can take it to my new house. Went to bed early, around 8 or 8:30 and got up at 4:30

Thanks Sherry! My hair stylist may come visit me when I move to Oregon. Her brother and his family live close and don't have room for her. The friend and I who met at Red Robin exchanged jig saw puzzles. AND I weighed myself this morning and I'm down .4 pound!

Morticia - Is there a RR anywhere near you? I didn't feel bad getting a burger and fries. At least I avoided the onion ring tower! Great when you take kids to the restaurant. Earlier this year I had my hair stylist cut my hair really short because it frizzes so bad at the coast and I decided to let it go gray to see how gray I am. About 80% I could tell she wasn't thrilled with the idea, but I told her when I go to the coast my hair frizzes so bad and it's short enough I can wear a wig if I have to. Eventually I colored the hair because I really didn't want to look as old as I feel and we are gradually growing it out to a short bob, maybe chin length. She told me some products to use to combat the frizz, so I'll see what happens

Fritzy i think i read somewhere you are moving my way? West coast near Oregon? Am i remembering that right? How far away from where you currently live are you and what prompted such a big change? Seems very brave to me!

Moving to Oregon? Quite the journey! And no Jimbos! Sounds as if you had a full day!

YOH yes, I"ve been looking in Oregon and Washington. Hoping to closer to my niece in Washington. Decided on Oregon which is still quite a drive to visit her. But it's more affordable. I'm moving because of the high fire danger where I live and I'm tired of the hot, hot summers. It's much cooler where I will be going close to the coast. It's about an 8 hour drive from this house to the new house. And then 5 hours to my niece

Yes, Daddy - No more Jimboys! I'll have to come back to the area and visit friends and relatives if I want those tacos with parmesan cheese on the taco shells!

Diana, I tried to upload pictures the other day and it still doesn't work. Maybe when I get a new laptop. I don't use the app. I can't type or read much on my phone. I take a picture with my phone then email to myself and keep all the pictures on my laptop. It used to work then just stopped. I'd have to drive cover an hour to the nearest Best Buy to have them check it out. Maybe I'll make arrangements for lunch one day and do it!

Thanks Daddy, it will probably be April at the earliest. It will be a new home so I guess lots of rain could slow things down

Thanks Bear! I can't believe I ever worked 8 hours a day. I left a 8 and got home at 3 and was so tired! And 3 hours of that time was driving. I am happy the meal didn't ruin the week for me. I am thinking about a bag of cheese popcorn and caramel corn mixed together. Want to save it for the trip to Oregon in just over a week but it may not last

Thanks Foody. I've never needed to sell one house before moving to the next house. But I basically need all the equity in my house as a down payment and then a small mortgage on the new house. Both my fiend and my sister said the house could sell fast so once is cleaned and ready to show I will probably put the litter boxes and cats in the garage when the house is being shown. If it doesn't sell fast I may look for an Extended Stay place to live until my house sells. Trying to come up with options

I always feel exhausted after driving long distances like that. But, I know what you mean about working. I can't believe the day goes by so fast. I feel like I'm always struggling to get things done! Enjoy that popcorn!

Thanks Bear. I retired just after Thanksgiving in 2011 at age 56. Back then I had a hard time working full days. I put the bag of popcorn in the garage refrigerator. It's in a sealed bag so will stay fresh for my trip in a week. That way I can share it with my friend. Bit I admit I was thinking about the caramel corn and cheddar corn last night. But was able to resist.
